I listen to a lot of local US Radio and most people seem more interested in jobs,Healthcare, education etc. Russia and this
Legal navel gazing is of little interest compared to having a job or putting food on the table. The political class obsessing about this kind of stuff and gotcha politics is what got Trump elected.

It isn't how I'd do it but that's just my opinion. If they are going to maintain that kind of system then under that criteria I don't see how they can be fairly denied.

The American healthcare system is so problematical....All I can see is disaster ahead in that area.

The US healthcare system is so f**ked up its more akin to Doublespeak. I think it emphasis why nationalised health systems (even ones like the French and German with Private Cover) make sense.

Its kind of odd that in the US as a prisoner you are entitled to health care, that a general citizen wouldn't automatically get.

Also most US Health care plans don't cover pre-existing conditions or mental health (which means you could easily leave mental health care, with a 200,000 plus medical bill).

I think all but the most ardent hardcore Libertarians or Right wingers would agree that its pragmatically easier and probably more cost effective to have a system of national health care across the board for citizens.

Only if a) your a politician or running for office and b) you obtain it from a foreign government or representative. Its conspiring with a foreign power - Especially if they've say obtained that information from say intelligence assets.

I mean, the US has a hard on for Assange and all he did was use documents provided by someone else.

I mean what could be the risks of a President, with close ties to one of the worlds most corrupt regimes where there is only technical differences between being a business man, politician, spy and gangster.

I wonder if those who have already had gender realignment treatment will now be kicked out? At that point surely any treatment wouldn't cost the military much and they may even be able to legally argue that they are now the sex they have reassigned to and are not trans anyway.

Of course I don't think any of them should be kicked out, but I'm just thinking about how it might pan out.

No, because that would be illegal. Its an odd way of 'saving costs' given there are only between 120 and 300 transgendered service men and women.

There is an interesting documentary about a transgender Navy Seal who spent 20 years in the US military. Its worth noting that Trump effectively dodged call up five times during the Vietnam war with postponements.

Fascinating to see this mess devour itself over time. The new comms director:

On why he’s better than Steve Bannon: “I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own cock. I’m not trying to build my own brand off the fcking strength of the president.”

On Reince Priebus, who Scaramucci said “cock-blocked” him for six months: “Reince is a fcking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac.”

I can't see anything changing anyway really: “There will be no modifications to the current policy until the President's direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidance.”

Also Trump's "I consulted the military about the transgender ban" is, like most things he blurts out for attention, more fantasy land material [Link]

This is an administration with all of the seriousness of a panto.

Well, from the digging I've been doing it's not illegal to accept information from a foreign power. What is illegal is 'conspiracy'. It's intent to use that information to break the law.

This is all speculation and it's extremely hard to prove anything. I don't see anything coming from this.

Proper entertainment. Completely crazy of course but Trump kind of enables craziness.
It's a strength and a weakness.

Hopefully we get a good trade deal.....but yeah, it's certainly a panto at the moment.

It's wrong to burden your employer with costs not related to your contract with them. The US needs to wake up and implement common sense.

Did you complain about Bill Clinton not going to Vietnam? It doesn't exclude him from his commander in chief position no more than it did Clinton.

Trump went to military school and he and his family did what a lot of unethical rich families did and avoided the mincer.

It's a black mark against him in my book but it's no different to many politicians and more than one President.
