In more recent times, Peter Taylor.

Playing legend but sucked the soul out of the side as a manager.

As stated, a playing legend so could never dislike the man. Mullery on the other hand.....(and Venables runs him a close second for me)

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

The correct answer is, of course, Mullery for those of a certain age.

And Pardew haters make me laugh. You get your cues from what the Geordies said about him way back. Sheep the lot of you.

Rescued us from relegation, second highest top league finish in 110 years and an FA Cup final to boot. In two years.

Totally and utterly correct Kermie.
We're the Newcastle of the South.

1st Mullery
2nd Mullery
3rd Mullery

1- Mullery - A complete disaster
2 - Paul Hart - A desperate appointment
3 - Taylor - Loved the player hated the manager

In recent times would have to be Dowie for the way he tried to con us, closely followed by Bruce for similar reasons.

You're not the first to mention Paul Hart. I'm mystified because he came in under extraordinary circumstances, did what was asked of him and then went off on his way.

What could there possibly be to dislike?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I don't recall there being a huge queue of potential managers all dying to take over the hot seat at the time either.

Why the hell wound anyone dislike Paul Hart, a manager who came in and did exactly what he was asked to do and then moved on?

Most managers seem to have left on bad terms. The recent exceptions being Paul Hart (a stop-gap appointment) and Ian Holloway (who resigned on realising the job was too big for him)

Recent Managers who left a bad taste, include : George Burley, Neil Warnock, Dougie, Dowie...even Peter Taylor

Bruce did the dirty, but we all chase the wonga

Mullery was hated before he was even appointed, and it went downhill from there

But top of the pile is Venables. He nearly destroyed our club by lining his own pockets. "Thief, thief, thief"

Some of the criticism seem pretty harsh. Going back in time over the managers mentioned.

Pardew - limited ability manager for the premiership. Took over when no one else would touch us. Saved us from religation, got us to two cup finals. In time we might forgive him.

Colin - no one else would go anywhere near us.

Ollie - as forest hillbilly said.

Dougie - being remembered for completely loosing his marbles once dispite being terrific for the club.

Burley - when he was appointed no one else would touch us.

Hart - stepped in when no one else would, saved us from religation.

Colin - worked against the back drop of insecurity and got us into the playoffs from no where.

Taylor - good player, terrible manager.

Dowie - religation spots to play off winners. Got us a few minutes away from staying up, then back into the playoffs.

Bruce - got us too the top of the league, then realised Jordan was a prick.
