You made your point previously.I,at least, acknowledged it and some of the posts following your earlier one were petty and silly in the extreme. But...,virtually every thread goes off topic..that's the beauty of threads...that's not to do with people dissing each other... If you are going to carry on posting, why not make a point on the original subject matter? I,for one, would be interested to hear your point of view... Edited by legaleagle (08 Mar 2017 9.09am)

It does include them of course, and Blair for that matter, and some Tories like Ken Clarke, and even Cameron with his gay marriage stance. It means the supporters of the the nonsensical and damaging policies perpetrated in recent years in the name of 'progressive politics'. The use of the word 'progressive' should be viewed in the same light as most people view the term 'Peoples Republic'. So basically anyone who isn't the traditional conservative further / harder right. Much like the use in US Republican circles, liberal basically just means not us.

Bend over backwards if you like because ultimately the majority, by definition, can always impose their will. No hypocrisy there. Well we actually believe there is a majority and minority, only because we choose to identify along lines of separation / similarity. In fact, the UK actually exists of some 65m individual people who are largely unique, independent functioning social entities that generate this idea of minority / majority.

I'm not sure that anyone has actually given an opinion on the subject matter as it went straight to lefties versus righties. Ricky Tomlinson has made a number of claims over the years but not one has ever been substantiated. He says that he has documents that prove that Whitely was an MI5 agent but he hasn't shared them with the media covering this story which makes me doubt the authenticity of his claim

They had an article saying that KellyAnne Conway had caused a controversy after being pictured with her legs on the sofa. The controversy was reported in the Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/afp/article-4266652/Trump-aide-Conway-draws-ire-kneeling-White-House-sofa.html), the Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/28/show-class-kellyanne-conway-accused-lacking-respect-kneeling/), the Times, the WashPo, and all over the international press. They didn't accuse her of being racist or disrespectful. Let alone Trump. Some of the press coverage (or at least treatment) of Trump is probably unfair, although he brings a lot of it on himself and he treats the media in a ludicrously inappropriate manner.

Edited by hedgehog50 (08 Mar 2017 12.57pm) Not entirely correct, gay marriage is legal in Northern Ireland, you just cannot get married there as a gay couple. A gay couple from the UK, who move to Northern Ireland are still legally married. Plus the Civil Partnership legislation does apply to Northern Ireland as well. Similarly, a gay couple could travel to the UK and get married, and their legal status would be married. The problem I have with the arguments against gay marriage is that they're entirely irrational, and absurd, based more in prejudice than the idea of a society that fairly treats its citizens. Its a load of religious bollocks (especially since the law doesn't affect churches).

He lacks any of the skills required to be a leader or operate in politics, and has repeatedly been caught in out right lies (along with many of his constantly resigning staff). If anything, I think they've gone too easy on him. What I don't get is how some people see that having a semi literate spoilt idiot man child as commander in chief is a good idea. Ok, some probably go too far focusing on trivial matters, and god knows why, the man is a walking disaster of press bait.
