Yup first goal was a foul. Other end and it's a free kick. Why we didn't appeal I've no idea. However doesn't alter the fact he is inconsistent (although doesn't warrant the abuse he receives and blame for every goal conceded). Probably a break out of the firing line will do him and us good but if anybody thinks putting Jules in goal is going to change a rotting club is sadly deluded. We're as good as down. We will not recover from yesterday. After 24 games we have the least amount of points we've ever had in a PL season and 4 of those 7 seasons we were relegated. Edited by Stuart Shave (05 Feb 2017 10.40am) The thing is mate, it wasn't a foul - every pundit I've heard has said it was weak. At the time I thought it was a cock up and after watching highlights several times it gets no better. Any other keeper would have come out and taken the man and the ball or punched it.

His decision making is terrible .He comes off his line when he should stay ie West Ham (defenders have the situation under control) and stays when he should come .The first goal yesterday I would agree he should have punched it but that would have been when the initial cross came in . Its travelled what ,30 yards in the air and the guy heads it inside the six yard box . Any ball in the air inside the six yard box has to be the goalkeepers to deal with . Costa scored from the same spot for Chelsea ,another Goalkeeping mistake when he hesitated came half way and , well we all saw it . His Kicking is rubbish ,he either scuffs it or just lumps it ,his poor kicking costs us possession and matches . Having said that the defence in front of him is at times shocking .
Have to take issue with this. His kicking is mainly excellent. Nearly every clearance yesterday found the head of Benteke. Not his fault that there was noone near him. Zaha was anonymous yesterday after he kindly decided to play for us again - where's the attacks on him

But, hey, let's not allow facts to get in the way of your argument.

Maybe if we had signed Adrian or Begovic in the 'Window' supporters might feel somewhat easier. At the start of the season I had Randolph on my list as a possible recruit but I think he has forced his way back into W.Ham's team.

Hennesey's pin point passes were superb yesterday. I particularly liked the couple that he passed to the keeper and the scuffed ones that went anywhere but Bentekes head. That's me over for this thread, I've wasted enough time talking about a terrible keeper. One who may I add hasn't just had a couple of dodgy games... he's been consistently poor for the duration of his tenure.

Personally I thought he should have claimed the ball and retained it. Still think the same having watched it on tv. I was sat with a load of neutrals and a couple of Palace in hospitality box. They all thought it was his mistake. Not the first. Shame as I thought he'd turned a corner.

Wayne is not good enough at this level. I love Jules and he's a massive legend but he's not the player he was and is not the answer either. When is Mandanda back? Needs to be in goal ASAP for the rest of the season. He'd our best option.
