Firstly I dont think there was a surge in support I think his vote was always stronger than it appeared for the same reason here polls understate the Conservative vote - because of what has been described here as "shy Tories" those that dont want to tell pollsters that they are voting conservative.

Secondly from the exit polls I have seen white voters overwhelmingly voted for Trump. He won the Male college educated and the non-college educated vote easily and the non-college-educated women as well. The only demographic that Clinton one was college educated women amongst white votes.

The Democrats need to take a long hard look at the message it is sending to middle/working class voters that the prefer Trump

Looking at the vote breakdown the lower income voters voted for Hilary over Trump. The demographic with the highest proportion of voters for Trump is white males with an income of £50,000 to $99,999 looking at the stats.

She has been stupid but broken no laws

She along with Bill has been investigated countless times for a variety of crimes from sexual assault to misappropriation of funds along with god knows what else. Bugger all has been proven.

Around 8% of black votes and 27% of Latino according to CNN. Almost exactly the same as Romney though Clintons vote was 5% down compared to Obama.

Thanks . My news watching has been hijacked my my children watching cartoons. The point I was making is I wonder what makes someone black or Hispanic vote for someone who is seemingly racist . On reflection it would be just as interesting to hear from those who switched from democrat to republican in this election. What their reasons were from the horses mouth rather than what the news papers are printing

At the weekend I was going to put money on Ivanka Trump being first female President, but now reckon it will be an Ivanka vs Michelle showdown.

We'll have to wait and see what happens over the coming years, once the investigation has been finished. The FBI have never closed it.

Bill Clinton paid off one of the rape victims with $800,000 back when that was a lot of money, although that side of things wasn't bought up in my list. She also defended the rapist of a 12 year old by smearing the victim, and has laughed about it in recordings since.

Regarding the Criminal I am happier to leave it to the FBI than your assertions. It has been investigated and the Republican who was in charge of the FBI has said there is nothing to charge her over. I have also read - though dont know if it has been verified that Powell and Rice did the same thing. in any case it is unacceptable though apparently not illegal accoring to the Republican in charge of the FBI

As for Immoral? Quite a lot of her opponents are paid for speeches. Personally I would have trouble supporting her against almost anyone given her contributions from Wall Street and Corporate America but thats more a criticism of the way the US political system works where politicians spend half their day fundraising from the richest people which rather skews their views because that is who they are speaking to. Most of the rest you are just throwing mud even taking the Saudi cash would depend on how the cash was used.

Tell me what you think she should have done differently regarding Benghazi rather than just copying and pasting other peoples partisan assertions. Why not throw in all those accusations of murder that follow her around

Could simply be that people were ready for a change but didn't think Hillary could offer anything different? She is not exactly "Snow White" anyway.

Also, it has always been claimed that the older white male population were the ones most likely to vote. Perhaps all those who might have been offended by rascist or sexist comments in the run in didn't turn out in sufficient numbers to register their protest vote?

I notice our stock market is not particularly bothered by the result and sterling has appreciated only 0.3% against the dollar.

Some have been interviewed in pre election programmes.

These things are complex. Some perhaps because they dont define themselves by race and religion. A muslim I watched being interviewed made the case for keeping muslims out of the US as a way of keeping bad guys out. I dont agree with him but he makes the argument that works for him. Others who are doing ok perhaps have a different perspective.

Most of the republicans deserted Trump and effectively back her, so the investigation being run by a republican doesn't really mean anything. As I said, the investigation is still open, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Regarding the rest, I understand your hesitancy to believe it as it hasn't been in the readily available media. It's worth looking in to and doing some research if you're interested in finding out more. Stefan Molyneux on YouTube would be a good place to start, as he's very thorough.
