About athleticism and shot-stopping ability, and about leadership, mentality and experience too, he is for me a really great goakeeper and many premier league team are not so lucky.. without him, Marseille will be in second division this year (without exagerating) Trust him (sorry for my english) You're either his Dad or a close relative or Brentmeister General in disguise...
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

I am a Hennesey fan We should stick with Mandanda for now. Keepers need confidence, you can't keep dropping them after a mistake or you end up with a tense player who makes even more mistakes. See how he does over the next few games and review.

Whoever is between the sticks for us atm has a poison chalice. Our back line allow far too many crosses to come in and shots on goal without blocking. The more shots yor have to deal with the higher amount you will let in, we could have De Gea in goal and still be letting them in.

Why is everyone assuming that conceding stupid goals is the goalkeeper's fault? Yesterday we gifted Burley a series of one-on-one chances against the goalkeeper because our defence was absent without leave. Expecting the goalie to bail you out every time when you put him in that position is asking for trouble. And blaming him for failing to do so is like handling the ball in the penalty area and then wondering why the other lot score from the spot. Yes, he might have done better for their second goal, for example; but why the hell was he having to make that non-trivial save in the first place?

Hes brought in a ball playing goalkeeper to play out from the back but we dont have one defender comfortable with the ball at their feet so all it is going to do is cause problems

I don't recall not complaining about Hennessey cockups last season and I do remember observing that his confidence seemed shot at one point and needed to be rebuilt. I also don't recall seeing Hennessey exposed by such absent defending on more than an occasional basis. The goalkeeping isn't the problem. Expose the goalkeeper like this and you could have Neuer in goal and still lose.

Mandanda is doing fine with no major calamities occurring. People were going on about his terrible blunder for the 2nd goal at Burnley ,but having watched it for me he did well to get something on the ball and was very unlucky with the ricochet.

There is quite difference of opinion. I hope it doesn't go like other threads and just descend into open abuse, but I think he's not performed well. First and second goals yesterday he could and should have done better and I remain of the view that he could have done better against Liverpool as well.
