Does seem a little odd that there are no confirmed details re the actual injury - appreciate that even if he isn't at fault at all, an accident such as this still has to be investigated so the details of the crash will be under wraps but why not confirm the exact injury? They must know as he's being discharged from hospital today.

Barry Sheen had his famous crash, broke his tibias which were plated. He was in and out in a few weeks while I was on traction wishing I could be pinned. Edited by eddy666666 (14 Sep 2016 9.44pm) I feel your pain. Double fracture of the femur in 98. Metal rod through it now but took two ops six months apart to encourage the bone to grow. It needed re drilling. Had me partial weight bearing in 5 days though (I still used crutches)and in theory is now stronger than ever. I do have a hernia down the side which can cause problems especially so I would imagine if you are an athlete

It's usually some guff like 'a strain' or 'a muscular problem'. look at Ledley last season, the official line was a broken leg which, whilst true, could've been anything from minor fracture to very serious - presumably it was the former in view of his short recovery.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Indeed but something this high profile (in the news etc) it just seems a little cloak and dagger to me.

It is intriguing that folk assume there's something not quite right just because the finer details on any incident are not broadcast these days! I find it hard to imagine that anything untoward or incredibly serious could remain a secret in view of the number of firemen, police, paramedics, air ambulance crew, doctors, nurses etc that have some knowledge about the extent of the damage. All I do know is that he is a Palace player, he's injured himself in a car crash & I wish him a speedy recovery.

Why would anyone suggest there is something odd going on ffs perhaps they are rebuilding him and we will next see him in Universal Soldier XVI or maybe hes being brainwashed as we speak and will appear as Jason Bournes long lost brother in Bourne 5: Black Legend. Hes in hospital having been in a car crash and we all wish him well. Edited by citizensmudge (15 Sep 2016 1.47pm)

Would suggest it might be due to legal reasons no-one can say what the actual injuries are apart from the player himself. We all have our medical details protected under the data protection act. Wonder how this works for footballers but it may be the case that as he sustained his injuries in a non-footballing incident so that prevents more public details of his injuries.

Or possibly there's nothing in it at all, the club have asked the media to let him & his family to leave him to recover & it was just a freak motorway accident that happens daily. Positive speculation.

Or maybe all of the emergency services staff are professionals who don't lower themselves to gutter level for the sake of leaking a few confidential details of an incident. JAT
