Hahaha. Mate he's not even in the top 20. 13 goals in 143 appearances and he can't put a cross in for toffee. I reckon Kai Kai could easily replace him

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Yannick bolasie (replacement ideas)' by james03 I reckon Kai kai / sako might have half a season to see if they can break in. shame bolasie is going but if he wants to go (why toffees??) then lets get best money for him and for 25m it sounds like good business.

Well if he scores an creates more than bolasie did last season then it's justified. I fully appreciate your opinion but Townsend is not a bad player one bit. I guess by Christmas we will see where we stand. Hope you can say you told me so!

Yannick is real box office. Very few players over my 65+ years supporting Palace have given so much enjoyment. However, he's never looked really at home when playing a more central attacking role which maybe goes part the way to explaining why he doesn't seem to have had his usual smile this year. And, when all's said and done, Andros Townsend is a pretty darn good replacement. He certainly looked exciting and accomplished against Valencia; and for something around 50% of the fee we're said to be getting for Yannick. So, as far as I'm concerned, it's thanks for 4 seasons of great memories and all the best at Everton - just not against us!

Not sure if this has been suggested and I have absolutely nothing backing this up but...is it possible Yannick looked dis-interested on Saturday because he knew the club were looking to cash in on him and wasn't that happy about it? I would have thought if he was looking to move on, he would want to make himself an attractive prospect.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Yannick bolasie (replacement ideas)' by james03 It was pretty obvious during the second half of last season that most teams had us worked out and knew not only what to expect but how to counter it. Bolasie has been a major part of "our style" and I don't see any real way we could successfully use him in another way. He did OK in the middle, but only OK. So I think we will not only be changing the personnel, we will be modifying the style somewhat, with a variety of different set ups designed to confuse the opposition rather more than our predictability of the last few seasons.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Do you actually watch Palace games? Yep - every single one. Sometimes twice. Look, it's just a difference of opinion. And that's OK. I think Chungy has done very well with the few minutes he gets at the end of each game. Always looking energetic, always looking to penetrate, skillful - and has a screamer in his locker (stoke). You don't agree. Meh. No biggie. Edited by sprites (09 Aug 2016 9.14pm)

He's not being sold against his will, trust me.

Like most on here, I love Bolasie, he's great to watch when he is on his game. He has given great service to this club and done it with a smile. I will be sad to see him go and would much prefer that we sold Zaha, if we had had a great offer for him. However, this is great business. Bolasie doesn't score or assist that many, althought I did see him put in some amazing crosses last season, unfortunately, he was trying to score and missed.. But there is a huge "but" to the sense of this sale. If we don't get Benteke, then I don't think that selling Bolasie, even for 25 million is a good idea at this stage. We need to add to what we have. I really hope the Benteke deal goes through.
