For anyone to believe that you can snatch a youngster from The Championship League and transplant him into The Prem and then expect him to come immediately good denies all rational thought. Obviously he still needs to learn his trades and gain more experience so lets send him out on loan for half a season and see how he does.

Yes I agree I didn't start this thread to blame Gayle. I started it to enquire where everyone saw a game where Gayle was good and lively because he has looked completely out of his depth. He is a good finisher no doubt but as someone said above it takes more then a great finish to be a premier league striker.

Not so sure about that, ask Gary Lineker.


Or Michael Owen or Darren Bent, everyone also wants us to sign Rhodes when his general game isn't great , not premier league level from what I've seen anyways , but he is a fantastic finisher.


Again not playing for teams fighting the drop Bent is now and look what happened there

Who played for a team not fighting relegation. The fact you even compare Gayle to Lineker is laughable.

Id like to see him start up top with Chammers against Fulham. Were pretty much guarunteed 11th now anyway.

Give Gayle a chance he has scored the goal of the season for us up till now. Once the coaches and TP have a pre season with him he may well be the goal scorer we need. Now we have premiership income 5m min plus is the norm for championship strikers who are unproven the proven premier ones are not going to come to us unless they have injury problems or are in the late stages of their career. Gayle could start v Fulham i hope he does.

Not gonna be a popular post but seriously what a waste of money. Got bullied lost the ball didn't hassle. Not for me. His goal at Villa park does not make him a class finisher. Sorry peeps worse then Jerome.

Not as good as Jerome and he is just a runner who can't score.
