His hold up play must be poor, I thought he was a lot smaller than he is. 6 ft 1, I thought he was a lot smaller than that.

Blackburn just announced the signing of Rudy Gestede from Cardiff on loan until January with a permanent transfer fee agreed for January....... Could it be they are preparing for life sans Rhodes? Venkys track record suggests they wouldn't be committing to a signing like that unless they were sure someone would make way........ Detroit area Since 1998 and still a Season Ticket Holder

How have I changed my tune? My very first post on this thread stated that I thought Rhodes was good player but not what we need at the moment, and I said exactly the same in the post you quoted.

I happen to believe that IF we were relegated (God forbid !) and had this strikeforce they could be a potent combination in the Championship. In the Premier League there seems to be a proclivity to play with one up top.

Agreed, but can we afford to have £12-14m worth of players making up the numbers but not racking up the goals or just warming the bench, I think not, that's a massive investment to make with no guarantees of it coming off.

any transfer we bring into the club is a gamble so to speak...you would like to think that with an average of more than 1 in 2 over 250 career apps at the age of 23 he will continue to score goals at the top level, even if not at that rate.
