Living in West London I know many Chelsea fans. Some are like this guy, love to give it large to smaller clubs like a playground bully and go on about how great they are and how they're better than everyone else (when they clearly aren't even at the moment).

Some are JCL's who just support them because they've won stuff recently, but quite a few (who I call their "real" fans) are desperately worried about what will happen when Abramovic gets bored and moves on. They feel their club could well implode without the Russian mafia cash and could go the way of Leeds or Portsmouth when it all becomes unsustainable.

Things tend to go in circles in football, especially when a castle is built on sand. Make the most of the gloating now chelski, because it's likely all you'll have in a few years are your memories.

This ^^^Well said Seth.
My lass is a Chelscum season ticket supporter, and has been for many a decade(We get on oh so well)but her and her real supporting mates also fear the worse is to happen in the none too distant future. If the inevitable happens, will I gloat?,not half...

Agreed Morpeth. Chelsea were average before Abramovic came and will be average (at best) when he goes. They're living in a bubble and when that bubble bursts the rest of football will be laughing their bollocks off.

Someone else who doesnt read much. I have only responded to the rubbush certain individuals on this site have sprouted about my club.
I have heard this nonsense a lot about what will happen when Abramovich leaves. LOL What makes you think he will leave? And even if he does we are now the fifth richest club in the world and make a profit.
The only 'gloating' I have done is in terms of responding to the rubbish lots of Palace fans speak about a subject they know nothing about!

I don't really see the point of this thread, I don't remember our chairman bragging about our youth team beating Chelsea's youth team last season but I'll take the OPs word for it.

As much as we love our academy here I don't think even die hard Palace fans would go on Chelsea boards bragging about winning a youth game.

Either way I genuinly believe our academy is better than Chelsea's. More importantly we give our young players a chance, other than Bertrand recently Chelsea cannot say the same

Actaully he did. On Sky Sports programme about the EPPP.
You set up a section on YOUR site for AWAY fans and then when an away fan gives a 'bit of banter' you dont like what you hear and then you throw insults. Quite laughable actually!!

But do you though? Can you show us some data about this? Most people will believe you when you say Chelsea's turnover has increased, but that doesn't always mean a profit. Baring in mind how high your wage bill is I simply don't believe it. Also chairmen don't last forever. I doubt Abramovich will leave in the short term, but like all club owners (even ours) they eventually move on. Chelsea may have grown leaps and bounds in the last decade but that is no guarantee that your next owner will be so financially generous.

No its not a guarantee and to be honest if he had left after a few years I would be very worried but our financial status is extremely good. I posted a link to deloitte report produced last month earlier in the thread. However, here is newspaper article from Nov. 12 (which wont include all the figures from money generated by our champions league success).

Hardly think the HUGE amount of investment that has gone on in our academy is a waste of time.
I think CPFC should be rightly proud of their academy. But I think our academy doesnt get the credit it deserves from other clubs.
