I have a new addition but I'm not sure it will fit - the entire fekkin 1960's politically correct, smug liberal hippy, baby boomer generation. God I'm bored of them. For short - lets call them the Liberal Orthodox Establishment because they are now the establishment. The old landed gentry, plum-in-mouth establishment, that they sought to destroy has gone and has been replaced by a new establishment that is just as bloated, self satisfied and self seeking as the old one.
The LOE is now such an established Establishment that it can't comprehend or tolerate those who hold other views. Anyone who holds right wing views must, by definition, be racialist and homophobic. The idea that right wing views have an honourable place in the political, economic and cultural structure of our country has no place within the LOE who have no conception of how the minds of such people work because they never meet them. They live within metropolitan enclaves and work in the chattering classes. Places such as the BBC and the educational system are completely insulated from the world of conservative rural areas and the real working class. You only have to look at the unreal world of Eastenders created by "right on" liberal BBC Guardianista scriptwriters to see how far detached they are from the way that real working class people live. Their patronising agenda permeates every scene.
The LOE has won every battle to gain control of the educational and media battlegrounds and has reigned supreme under the present administration. I wonder though if there are signs that they have reached a high water mark. I hear growing signs of discontent. In everyday conversation there is whispered discontent about political correct dogmas being forced down your throat and the indoctrination of the young to try and make them well rounded but illiterate little eco-hippies. I wonder if there is a sea change due to take place where a new right wing intelligencia will start to attack the embedded assumptions of the last 20 or so years. I think that the LOE will be unable to deal with it any more than the old establishement were able to deal with the angry young men of the 50's and 60's. I hope it happens because we need it as a culture. I dont see it being led by the current conservatives though.

Actually, can we just chuck everything that is cheap, tacky and nasty about Christmas into Room 101 in a job lot. On top of the bad decs, to include s*** presents from Aunties you don't see all year and give you soap on a bloody rope. Or festive socks. Or worse - musical ones.

Cliche!? What cliche?

Actually your whole rant is not just cliche but Daily Mail cliche at that.

Miss Flanders is symptomatic of the whole BBC/Guardianista/New Labour mindset - patronising, statist, nanny knows best.

'She exemplifies the way the self-appointed "liberal" elite have imposed their own values and prejudices on society - and to hell with the consequences. ' from [Link]

and

"I’m sorry to sound defeatist, but it is too late. The entire system was captured by the Guardianistas some time ago.
The Government is run by overgrown students’ union activists and left-wing lawyers. They control every single lever of power.

from [Link]

Are you Richard Littlejohn? Now there's someone for room 101...

Ok - I shall try to be more original in my detestations. It doesn't detract from the truth of it. The missing ingredient for a change away from liberalism is for the young to embrace radical right wing views. It will happen because it is the only radical course open to them. It's the only thing that would truly distress the establishment created by their hippy parents. I hope it happens.

Describe these radical views for me please Catfish.

3 people suggest NW, would they now?

Catfish, you and I are of a similar age and share a view of today's society. but surely the ganeartion who you are against is those who are say 10 years okder than you and I, not the "baby boomers" to which we belong?

Quite ironic, really, as the boy gussett has completely vindicated Catfish's comments.
