My own views are based upon reading the data and BMJ/Lancet articles. Maybe try that before spouting dangerous nonsense again. Jog on! I told you sky news reported it last week! A simple search on the sky news website you would see! As for a classic scare story! hahahahahaha the media and government have been spinning "classic scare stories" of how bad covid is the last two years!

An outbreak of severe hepatitis in healthy children that has caused liver failure in some kids might be linked to adenovirus infection, though further investigation is needed, World Health Organization officials said on Thursday. Eleven countries, including the U.S., have reported at least 169 cases of severe acute hepatitis in children aged 1 month to 16 years old with the largest outbreak in the U.K, according to the latest WHO report. At least 17 children have required liver transplants and one patient has died. Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver most commonly caused by viruses, but medications and toxins can also trigger the condition. “What is particularly unusual is that the majority of these children were previously healthy,” Dr. Philippa Easterbrook, a WHO official who monitors hepatitis, said during a question and answer session livestreamed on the global health agency’s social media Thursday. At least 74 of the children have tested positive for adenovirus, according to the WHO. Adenoviruses are common and usually cause respiratory illness but can also result in stomach pain, pink eye and bladder infections. The severe hepatitis outbreak in kids has coincided with increased transmission of adenovirus in countries such as the U.K., according to the WHO. “This doesn’t at this stage prove that there’s a causal link to these cases, but it is a promising interesting early signal that is being looked at in more detail,” Easterbrook said. Adenovirus has, in rare instances, been associated with hepatitis in children with weak immune systems, according to Dr. Richard Peabody, who leads WHO Europe’s high-threat pathogens team. However, adenovirus is not a known cause of hepatitis in healthy children, according to the WHO. “This is sort of an unusual phenomena that we’re seeing and that’s why we’re sort of alerting parents and public health authorities about this,” Peabody said. At least 20 of the children had Covid, with 19 of them testing positive for that virus as well as adenovirus, according WHO data. Peabody said it’s possible Covid also is playing a role in the hepatitis outbreak, though it’s not clear and more investigation is needed to determine if that’s the case. Isn't it strange that all the "long COVID" symptoms seems seem to correlate perfectly with the adverse reactions? Just a coincidence of course.

You just have an extreme perception of evetything you dont personally opt for or agree with. Pushing an idea that vaccines are 'dangerous'. Do you actually believe that 'anybody' should have, or should have had the vaccine?

I'm not saying that there aren't problems in the other direction with those adement that kids should be vaccinated etc or that there should be no aspect of choice involved, but it's a shame that you've allowed yourself to view issues in some a 'all or nothing' fashion. Clearly in America it's ultra politicised in both directions on the issue, but for the most part now here I think people see a future where the elderly and vulnerable are greatly helped by these vaccines, and others draw their own conclusions. I'm not sure attempted to demonise vaccines helps anyone, and I would be amazed if covid vaccines are withdrawn or anything of that nature. Edited by BlueJay (05 May 2022 4.29pm)

Edited by BlueJay (05 May 2022 4.29pm) From an effectiveness point of view it’s purely a numbers game and the numbers do not stack up however many times the media repeat “safe and effective” over and over and over again. Very few people died overall, those that died were almost entirely very old and already sick yet we stuck all of our old people in care homes and removed contact with the outside world and let them rot. We also know now that lockdowns didn’t work, masks didn’t work, the vaccine didn’t stop you getting sick or passing it to others and we were told that all these things were true.

Correct on all three points.

Whether masks works varied significantly dependent upon the quality of the mask worn. Fact. Anything that may have slowed spread when people were dropping like flies was worth consideration. The first lockdown made perfect sense as we didn't know what we were dealing with. The others much less so, but lockdowns or not it was a global issue that had painful realities attached no matter the approach (see Sweden high inflation levels too etc). Vaccines provably made people significantly less likely to get infected initially, but of course viruses evolve, and so eventually its more about cushioning the blow. The idea that we shouldn't have ever vaccined anyone at any point including the elderly (and that its dangerous for them to do so) isn't helpful and endangers lives.
