Yer probably right. However Corbyn I'd imagine,is campaigning on w behalf of what the PLP want. Is there anyone who is 100% in favour of everything 'their' party does? Do the incidents at Broadstairs where so called UKIP supporters hassled disabled kids who were with their parents sit easy with you? Edited by nickgusset (05 Jun 2016 10.50am) No (if it happened)... neither does the situation with Nigel Farage trying to enjoy his Sunday lunch at a pub without your lot abusing him and his family. Cameron and Corbyn aren't subjected to that hate.

Yep. I don't need to besmirch the remain camp, Cameron's doing that by himself! Osborne & Cameron may as well be campaigning for Brexit given the quality of their campaigning that is matched with hyperbole and lies. Leave campaign though have largely adopted same tactics. Conservative Government is a broken party with a leadership contest surely in the offing post June 23rd. Who'd trust both sides trying to come back and rule as one thereafter? (Not that Labour Party is behaving any differently by way of party unity away from EU)

Two observations about that Daily Mail article.... 1, That Eva Van (short) Housen has a lovely pair of norks. 2. The "march" in Bristol of the Far Right anti immigration supporters had 17 people there in total. However, because of the threat of violence from tens of thousands of anti nazi supporters (and other associated left wing anti racist supporters), the centre of Bristol was in lockdown by the Police, costing over £100,000 to whoever is footing the bill, the taxpayers ultimately! What is it with the Left with their thirst for violence & their utter contempt for democracy & freedom of speech? Edited by Ouzo Dan (05 Jun 2016 10.44pm)

In fact hundreds of thousands are grateful that their anti austerity beliefs are being echoed by a mainstream party and as such have made the Labour party the party with most paid up members.

Did anyone see Prescott on the Politics Show yesterday? I had forgotten how much I dislike him. I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread but I fail to see why politicians are giving the proletariat the choice to decide when they, as elected leaders, should be making the big calls.

Edited by Ouzo Dan (05 Jun 2016 10.44pm) Well arguably, neither the far left or the far right, are a) pro-democracy or b) pro-freedom of speech. Traditionally speaking - the exceptions really being the libertarians and anarchists (right and left wing anti-authoritarian), who are very pro-free speech. Free speech is a load of old bollocks (its actually quite expensive to have a voice in society - and the idea that all voices are heard is a falicy) and Democracy is a sham anyhow, given constituency seats and the 'cost' of elections, maintains a two party state of elites, who represent corporate interests.

I disagree with this. I like referendums, and see maybe this as the way forward for politics, where in the power for very important decisions and changes, are passed to the population directly. For me, this represents the highest ideals of democracy - the people deciding. I'd like to see the UK devolving power from the House of Commons to the population on a more regular basis. With modern technology, the need for representation in the House is greatly diminished, when the responsibility for voting on motions and policy could be delivered to the people directly.

Interesting development; "Pro-Remain MPs are considering using their Commons majority to keep Britain inside the EU single market if there is a vote for Brexit, the BBC has learned. They say it would be legitimate for MPs to push for the UK to stay in the single market because the Leave campaign has refused to spell out what trading relationship it wants the UK to have with the EU in the future."
