Absolutely. It was Whitworth’s lack of reach (height) that was the main factor in him conceding the goal at Brighton. Anyone of any size would’ve made the save comfortably.

Andy Johnson came back under Warnock in his second spell I think Derry may have come back too, but possibly this was under Jordan. I suppose the fact that so many current employees (Bright, Freedman, McCarthy, Derry etc) are ex players can give the appearance of it being an old boys club.

Certainly not anti-Hodgson. But on the one hand you have an interview bemoaning the lack of numbers but there is little to suggest any youngsters will be used to add to those numbers.

Would that be a tactic we should employ regardless of their suitability to play in the first team?

Said who? Tell me the games he played LW. The most reliable sources of information suggest he has played once at LW in the whole of 2022/23 season.

Being able to plug a gap there doesn’t make him a left forward. Especially doesn’t make him a Zaha replacement…which he is not.

Clyne and Schlupp play left back but they ain’t left backs are they. Ward can play CB! But the real question is, against the best players and in one of the strongest leagues, should they?

A touch of insomnia, so I thought I would trawl through Holnet. Thanks for the clarification re Hodgson. Might what happens (or doesn't) in the remainder of the transfer window determine which youngsters, if any, will be retained for the 1st team squad?
