At the 'Ripe' age of 73, Roy Hodgson works tirelessly for the club in all weathers. He has been in management for some 44 years, managing both internationally and some big clubs, with often not much time between jobs and one does not have such a CV if one does not know one's 'Onions'. He is very much respected globally. He's a relic of a bygone age when English sport was controlled by cronies. They constantly employed from within their own clique leading to failure after failure. A time where we under performed at every level and no one could work out how the powers that be achieved or maintained their executive positions. On recent performance, he just seems to slump in his comfortable chair occationally huffing and puffing like an old drunk at a exclusive members club. The only reason he's respected is because he's shown the old boys club how to build a long profitable career with no talent or personality. The description you gave is how many in the Labour Party describe Jeremy Corbyn, just a couple of years younger... we're basically managed by football's equivalent of Corbyn. Useless, but he's been around a while, speaks relatively politely and is protected by blind followers who can see no wrong.

I don’t understand the ‘jumping on’ and making a big deal and shining a light on Ray giving the players a rocket! A lot of nonsense to fit people’s agenda! If Roy has been here for example for 3 seasons, there will be times when Ray would give a rollicking to the players, that’s natural for any assistant (dependent upon their nature) and relationship with the manager. That’s at all levels across industries, assistants and deputies will step in and take the floor so it’s not always one voice at the top re-enforcing a lost message. Too many agendas and short sighted over emotional posts are too frequently written with little thought or reflection.

A key part of the manager and coaches job now is motivating the players of today.

Beyond that we/Roy is on a downward curve 2020 stats; Recent performances suggest Roy seems incapable of arresting that slide and if it is not arrested now, irrespective of our current perceived position of comfort I fear big trouble ahead and the potential of relegation come May looms large. Football is a results driven business, there is no room for sentiment - harsh I know but true. COYP So, provide to me examples of the previous situations we've had with Mr Hodgson where he has suggested to you that he hasn't a clue about keeping us out of a relegation fight, I cannot wait

With the greatest of respect I am in total disagreement with some of the arguments that have been advanced to discredit Roy Hodgson. There is disaccord between ourselves on this matter.

Why do you always insist on posting 'Mr Hodgson' & not Roy or RH, like everybody else on here? Your posting style is very similar to other *ahem* posters very similar to yours. Some of what you post, imo, is true, most of it, like others is made up bollux & a total love-in FOR Roy/RH.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

So, provide to me examples of the previous situations we've had with Mr Hodgson where he has suggested to you that he hasn't a clue about keeping us out of a relegation fight, I cannot wait Err aggregate deficit of 11-1 over the last 3 games..!! Within that conceding 7 at Home and 2 against 10 men. A total of 20 mins approaching anything what could be considered a competitive/acceptable performance out of a total of 270 mins played. But that's my opinion and I respect others for theirs whereas you seem to feel the need to immediately make it personal and confrontational. Notice nothing heard from "your Mate" Wisbech Eagle lately who remarkably also comes from Cornwall and even more remarkably has a posting style very similar to your own, including the Mr Hodgson references. Odd that ain't it..!! COYP
