The deal is provisionally agreed but the player is away. Liverpool have therefore been coy to the press as nothing can be done in earnest until he is back. Hence the rumours of him now staying there and no other offers / rumours about him going anywhere else. You heard it here first and will be wrapped up in earnest in next couple of weeks. News now coming in that Palace have launched a £20m bid for Berahino. Could be that the club has lost patience with Benteke, or that they will as you suggest sign off a deal with Benteke in a couple of weeks, in which case we would have a striker group of Wickham, Benteke and Berahino?

Maybe the Berahino story is a deliberate ploy to gee Liverpool up? I think Benteke is a far better fit with our style than Berahino.

He isn't the type of player we need, he isn't worth twice what Dwight Gayle was worth and I'm no fan of Dwight Gayle! To sign Breahino we'll have to play a different style, formation and employ different tactics which for the sake of a sulky player with a s*** attitude and an agent that's a total c***!

So why would we? I don't know. I was agreeing with you that we would have to change/adapt. Why would AP and SP? No idea. Lack of ideas, lack of scouting, frustration with Benteke or LFC, Berahino being Prem proven but not our style proven? I don't know. Bring forth AP's departure?

Spurs will still be sniffing around this guy. He will be heading in their direction. The only stumbling block last time was WBA's reluctance to sell him. If they don't off load him soon he will walk on a free. Hopefully we can get 2 quality striker/attacking midfielder deals through the door before the start of the season.

With Bacca rejecting a move to West Ham, i expect that they will now go for Benteke instead. Would be a shame as i feel Benteke is exactly what we need. But at the end of the day, we cant force him to join us so we'll have to move onto our next target, whick looks to be Babacar.
