Even the most die-hard tory will admit that the banks won after the financial crash.

Things like brexit may require a sleight of hand, but the juggernaut powers on.

And they contribute little or nothing.

The IMF forecasts are worse that the Met Office.

I'm neither a fan of banks nor a die hard Tory, but I do feel that banks in this country contribute quite a bit if you're one of the tens of thousands that work for one (which I don't).

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

A woman has just phoned the IMF to say there is a hurricane about to hit the world economy.

But don't worry it won't.

Once I fully understood what happened in 2008, and the subsequent bail-outs, it changed my political thinking forever. I have voted Conservative only twice since, both times purely because I wanted my vote to leave the EU honoured but I was so disgusted by how our ENTIRE current political system works (and lets not forget that Labour were still in power when it happened) that I simply loathe them all.

"Universal credit claimants face tough sanctions in UK job crackdown"

The usual suspects are moaning about this, personally I don't see an issue. The job of the taxpayer is to support the unemployed until they can find a job, its not to keep supporting them until they find their dream job.

Their are 1.2m vacancies if that means working in the hospitality sector until your dream job comes along so be it.

Wrong thread B, and Universal Credit claimants are not necessarily unemployed.

I disagree This thread was about the Post EU world and the impact of Brexit on the UK economy certainly counts.

Regarding Universal Credit that was the Guardian comment's perhaps the BBC is more accurate

"Universal Credit: Jobseekers must widen job search more quickly"
