Like it or not the hf are responsible for the atmosphere that gets so much attention from the media and other fans. They got a lot of flack from most fans before this season, now people are literally begging for them back. I find it funny what can I say

If the HF are so concerned about the lack of atmosphere in the Lower Holmesdale and want HF fans to occupy Block E to rouse the singing then why don't they encourage those that sit there to be a member of HF instead of asking the club to reset the seating allocation in the lower tier? Also, if they felt that the noise was dwindling in previous seasons, then doing what they're doing now (staying away and not helping to create the atmosphere) is certainly not going to improve it...and this was before the club released a statement. A part of me thinks that the club felt that they had to release something as talk of "where's our famous atmosphere" was growing. If a petiton is really going to be done then it has to be signed by those who occupy the blocks behind the goal and not those in other parts of the ground.

What I don’t get is why the HF are trying to blackmail the club ? They are refusing to carry on unless they get their own way like spoilt brats. If they really have the club at heart then they should accept the clubs response , make preparations for when the new stand is ready or safe standing is legalised and carry on their good work from where they have been. It’s very simple !!

If they really have the club at heart then they should accept the clubs response , make preparations for when the new stand is ready or safe standing is legalised and carry on their good work from where they have been. It’s very simple !! I have a few problems with this response. Firstly, and let's make this clear, the HF owe us absolutely nothing. They were formed by other fans over ten years ago when the atmosphere was pants. Now we're considered omg the best in the UK, and are admired even on the continent. So I've never really understood this rhetoric. In my opinion, I believe one of the main reasons is that the club promised all of these things, and seemingly got quite far in negotiations, for the club to f*** up the unveiling massively (more on that later), and essentially hung them out to dry without ever accepting the partial blame for the situation. Also, it's not like they don't attend - I've met a few of them and they just moved from Block B to other places. Finally, I don't think it's their fault for this. I think it's predominantly down to the club for me. This is because: 1) the club f***ed the unveiling up horrendously, where they released (before an important game) that members of the LH weren't allowed to renew their season tickets without any explanation why. Some people were understandably argue, but others used the HF as a scapegoat, where they received a lot of flak, and the club just allowed this to continue. 2) the club's statement was bitchy and, for me, sought to alienate rather than unite (which I felt the HF's latest statement did the opposite). The club's statement made seemingly false claims on the whole situation (explained next). 3) the club's statement said that members of Block E had been consulted, despite the fact that numerous Block E fans had said they had never been asked, which throws the club's statement into disrepute. This is more annoying, because who would believe a HF statement first, before the club's?

However, IMHO, the HF statement shows a lot more professionalism and thought that the rubbish statement from CPFC. The other areas I mentioned are in my opinion poorly operated at present , on a par with the CPFC statement. My OP wasn't meant to be taken literally but to point out that CPFC areas of operation that are poor compared to other clubs in the top two tiers. If you think the F and B, shop, facilities ( toilets ) are all fine as is well that's an opinion as are most of the post on HOL I have posted previously on the Sunderland disgrace and agree that was totally disgraceful. I also believe the standing issue is a problem going forward, people jump up and down in a match and sometimes stand to see a corner etc but it is not OK to have a group standing all the match if they are obstructing the view of others. There were reports of stewards ejecting people standing behind the goal in LH against Southampton, hope thats not the thin end of a wedge. Its just typical Palace after a near miraculous season we start this one with divisive foot shooting I can agree with COYP Edited by HKOwen (06 Sep 2018 8.35am)
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
