No, i was responding to your original post, just don"t think that lots of working class people are millionaires, percentage wise, thou take your point that house prices in London have made a lot more and that the Eton boys were wealthy anyway. So not black v white then. Isnt that what you meant as black and white is well.. everyone and what is working Class iyo.

This is my point though, I do not think it is harder to come from abroad or be from a different ethnic background to make it in this country. The opportunity is there and no one is going to stop you if you are tenacious enough. Without going into details my route was comprehensive school followed by college on a grant and a move from the Midlands to London. The rest has been hard work. Hardly a privileged background as my father was car industry and in and out of work during the 70s/80s. Yes we were fortunate to have grants (about £1200 a year as I seem to recall) in those days as it is all loans now but that is the only difference to todays kids. Everyone has schooling in this country and you can excel even at the poor schools so there is the opportunity for self progression whoever you are. Where else in the world do opportunities like this exist where you can freely enter a country and go through a free education system and then have a choice of professions to enter? You can’t enter America or Australia like this and there are plenty of other countries you wouldn’t want to be in. I’m ranting a bit but I think this is a pretty damn fine country, it’s just a shame that others don’t see it that way and want to undermine it and consider it unjust and tainted by its past.

No, ment mixed as one, working class probably mean blue coller workers, building sites, factories, nurses, everyday jobs, probably state school educated with few exceptions, council housing for sure but not for ever as lots buy eventually, at a guess, me and you, and probably 95% at selhurst!

Sorry to hear that, It’s very easy to fall out of love with the government in this country and it sounds like you have particular reason to do so.

Thanks, on the bright side, its only a week away before our season kicks off and we can scrape in to that champions league spot-or at least enjoy watching the relegation scrap!
