This post has been merged from a topic called 'David Moyes' by Guntrisoft He is a broken miserable man since the United job. He also comes across as arrogant, thinking he should be a top 4 manager. Ironically he lost his favourite job by taking a top 1 team down to 8th. Within minutes of arriving at Sunderland he said the team wasn't good enough to stay up - we don't need that right now, the players are fragile and Big Sam done a lot of work on mentality. As an excuse for taking the top team in the country from 1st to 8th over just one season, he said he was not backed at all in the transfer window and if he would have got his signings he'd of been a success. Who were those signings? - Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale. Yes because Real Madrid have always been known as a selling club. He must be an incredible scout old Moyesey, I don't think anyone else in football could have unearthed those 2 hidden gems. There's a good chance someone like Sakho won't sign for 30 million so we're going to need a manager who can identify an unknown Sakho from a foreign league. Big, strong, powerful, young, good on the ball - we don't need our manager coming out and saying "I was promised Sakho and we didn't get him, there are NO other center backs good enough for Palace out there, we will now be relegated". I hate the man, not sure if you can tell.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Luciano spalletti' by Guntrisoft Just stepped down as Roma manager, great tactical manager who's worked with great players and has champions league experience. Would be a great appointment as he plays good football and could attract players.

What about Martin O'Neil done well with Ireland. Would he be interested in a move back to the premiership.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'David Moyes' by Guntrisoft No thanks. I think Moyes is someone who can do a good job given time and stability, like he did with Everton - But he's not someone you want to go to if you have pressure for results, or a quick turn around. He can build a great squad, as he did with Everton, but you need the security of not needing to worry about staying up or fans turning.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'David Moyes' by Guntrisoft I think we've been linked with worse managers but obviously his stock is through the floor. I expect he’ll leave English football for his next job.

On page 153 of the BBS 'who do you want as manager', masteryoda pretty much nails the contradiction of criteria. I'd like one who was [LIST] The problem is they mostly contradict each other - a big name will prob bring his own staff, a progressive appointment may not have the respect of the squad. An active manager will likely have his own team.

So, on balance, you don't think he would be a good choice for us? Surely Parish is not stupid enough to consider Woy. His England showing at the 2014 world cup was total toilet and in the Euros he produced a showing that was even worse and topped it off with a performance so epoch-makingly bad we were all sure that at his age he was finished. Look at the team selections he made: would you give him a transfer budget? Look at the formations he used: do you want to see one of the best headers of the ball in England taking corners? Look at his tactics: do you want to see your creative midfielder scratching his head and wondering whom he can pass to? Woy may have been decent once but he lost the plot years ago.
