Some stats on covid and the cost of lockdowns, which isn't just economic. I haven't gone through all of them but I doubt it's inaccurate. Attachment: stats1.JPG (228.78Kb)

Without knowing the source, and therefore how trustworthy they are, how can anyone judge whether they are accurate, or not, without checking every one? Based on similar "charts" posted here, I am highly suspicious, for they presented a highly inaccurate picture.

It's not even a political, rather than a public health decision. It's a personal one, designed as a last-ditch attempt to retain his position. It's straight out of the populist's playbook, as used by Trump all the time. Will anyone die as a result? We will never know. What we do know is that the gullible will lap it up like the obedient puppies they have been trained to be. So anyone that is opposed to lockdowns, Government overreach, mandatory injections is “gullible” and an “obedient puppy”? I get it that lockdown lovers like you WE, that want to have more and never ending restrictions will not be happy with life returning to normal - you continue to shelter away from society and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

I am aware that propaganda does exist on every side of an argument and we all can fall foul of that. I recognise a couple that I know are accurate but check any that you wish to.....that's always valid.

Nobody "loves" lockdowns and to suggest anyone would is indicative of just how gullible some folk are. They would believe anything if it suited their prejudice. Lockdowns were, in the days before mass vaccination, a regrettable necessity. Everyone wants normality restored as soon as it is practical to do so. Practical means that it is safe, and not pre-emptive. There is NO government over-reach. They are trying to manage a pandemic in the least damaging way, valuing life and a functioning health service rather higher than some. I am opposed to mandatory vaccination. I am in favour of only the vaccinated doing some jobs where not to be threatens the lives of others. I favour treating those who refuse vaccination, without a medical exemption, differently to those who join in the national effort to overcome the pandemic. Once we have been able to resume normal life through our efforts it's the unvaccinated who ought not be allowed to. They don't deserve it. Those who believe conspiracy theories are gullible. Those who put personal choice above collective responsibility are selfish.

Without one, it's worthless. I have no interest in, or time to, look any of these up. I do my own research into things that interest me, not into claims that always turn out to be twisted. If anyone is so ashamed of their source that they won't provide it, that tells me all I need to know.

The poster literally contains statistics that you can check. Why don't you check them out? I found the poster from Paul Joseph Watson's site, the actual 'source' of the poster isn't known to me but the statistics would have been complied from multiple areas. Sure, you can cast doubt but unless you have any evidence to the contrary it's just bluster. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Feb 2022 9.57pm)

PJW's post election summary of why Labour got hammered is a classic. I by no means agree with him on everything but IMHO on the arrogance of the luvvie left, Hugh Grant, Steve Coogan etc was spot on.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
