After one of Facebook's fact checking teams called the British Medical Journal (established 1840) a 'news blog' and criticises one of its articles, Dr John Campbell investigates.

Your position on religion is extremist. I have literally never heard even one other person on Hol suggest that all religion be removed from the 'public square'. It's quite amusing that you question whether you're criticising.....Like debating with a squirrel over whether it eats nuts or not.....Maybe you'd like to link to a site that says that squirrels eating nuts is a myth and 'debunks' it. Edited by Stirlingsays (08 Feb 2022 1.32pm) I accept that my position on religion is not yet common, but it is far from extreme. I welcome and support those who, motivated by their belief, work hard to support the vulnerable and needy. Maybe it's not been seen here before, but it isn't that unusual. I believe it to be a way to deal with extremism, rather than be extreme. Proselytism is regarded by some as a "God" given right. Those of us who don't believe in a "God" tend to disagree. Squirrels eating nuts isn't discussable. It's factual. Conspiracy theories aren't factual. They can be, and routinely are, debunked.

Point of science and language Try finding details of the white Fiat Uno owner who died after the Lady Diana car crash. The evidence information has been previously been available on internet, but not any more.

The evidence information has been previously been available on internet, but not any more. You can say that about almost anything. Almost all science is theory, accepted as fact until disproved by a new one. The longer things go on without being disproved the more they can be trusted as highly probably factual. Squirrels eating nuts though is a fact, as it doesn't exclude them from eating berries too. I have no knowledge of the examples you give, but cannot see the relevance either. Things get removed from the net for many reasons. Doesn't mean they don't exist elsewhere.

This is 100% a diversionary tactic by Johnson, just as his deliberate slur over Starmer and Saville was. It's designed to take the heat off him. It's not even a political, rather than a public health decision. It's a personal one, designed as a last-ditch attempt to retain his position. It's straight out of the populist's playbook, as used by Trump all the time. Will anyone die as a result? We will never know. What we do know is that the gullible will lap it up like the obedient puppies they have been trained to be.
