AWB all depends if Utd get another RB in if they do deal will be on if not then will have to wait till January Soumare is still very much a possibility too. We are also supposedly in talks with a mystery player from abroad but that’s all I know. Going to be a busy day tomorrow. I will be shocked if we don’t get at least 2 players. Why do we leave things until the very last minute as it leaves us open to missing our targets as they won't sell unless they can find a replacement and we've left it too late for that unless it's someone that they are pleased to get shot of

Personally, I don't understand it but why would I as I have no idea. What I can't shake however is the frustrating feeling that the transfer window and the end of it comes as some sort of shock to many, hence the last day madness. Bit like doing all your Xmas shopping on the 24th! I'd like to think come end of season, you identify what you need and want, identify the real possibilities and go after each one. I remain confident even the most polarising of characters, from all sides, on this forum could form a 'think tank' together and identify transfer targets in less than 'months'.

Got a sneaky suspicion about Sarr. Based on nothing obviously. Joao Pedro still at Watford so they could let Sarr go. We really need a number 9 option though imo. It could be Wilf but then Sarr and Olise wouldn’t totally fit, as both play on the right mainly. The radio silence coming out of palace is either worrying or it’s another masterclass from Dougie and Parish. We feel like we are only 2/3 players away from having a real go with this team. Fingers crossed Although they did move Olise to left on Tuesday for a while Edited by Spiderman (01 Sep 2022 8.18am)

I see "star player" for what he is not like you in fantasy land the same with many other fans (If so good would have been at Palace for 10 years and the excuses about club pricing him out is BS we have never had big club while in prem even put in a official bid)

I'd be very happy with Sarr and Soumare too: Still think a striker is too pipe-dreamish and the likelihood of bringing an effective one to Palace very small. Not too concerned at full back, Clyne and Mitchell will do for me with cover available there. Definitely need a CM to partner Doucoure, my priority. A winger (Sarr) would be nice especially if they can double up to play anywhere across front three.

I hope that all our efforts are not being directed at Gallagher, if so we might just be wasting our time. Shame if we don’t further strengthen our squad.

Parish said a few years ago he loves deadline day, but have we actually had that many good ones? We often get rumours and stories of two or three incoming, but I don't remember many good deals coming out of it? If there are incomings then the club have kept it amazingly quiet as there have been barely any significant stories aside from The Times claim abut Gallagher (which seems to have been widely dismissed). I agree with others that I think we'll push for Sarr, but you have to imagine Vieira sees what we see which is a glaring need for another quality central midfielder. Edit: I checked and the only significant deadline day signings I could see since 2002 (according to Sky) have been Sakho, McArthur, Kuqi, Stuart Green, Damien Delaney, Wayne Andrews and Claude Davis. Perhaps he will modestly but very publicly grumble about a lack of a new CM when the window shuts before lacing up his boots for Newcastle! Crafty old fox.
