One of the issues with travelling outside of your area is that hospital availability is set according to population stats. So if zillions of people go to the Welsh mountains and some fall ill, the local supports aren't available. But also one or two small incidents can help move the virus across the country faster and allow a new local outbreak. This is also interesting People with more 'touchy' cultures, who live with multiple generations and who share food are potentially more at risk. Perhaps partially explains the current Spain situation (or maybe the Spanish are simply unhygienic). Maybe us cold fish ethnic Brits will be less badly affected than e.g. our latin counterparts. Yup. I mentioned this early on. Italy, spain, china, some families in the uk.

If one thing has been learned from WW2 surely it is not to let hate speech spiral out of control to the point where people believe: 1) One group of people is stealing their jobs, their women and their future So yes, after much soul searching I do think misinformation and relentless attacks on 'outsider' groups should be blocked. How did you feel about Abu Hamza al-Mazri? Who?

The whole world outside of Europe is ethnocentric and the views you present here have been manifest there in various guises and have formed governments for decades, including to various extents this one....but because the Nazis turned up in Germany....in an extreme set of circumstances, you want to ban people from expressing views. You'd ban the governments in Poland and Hungray then. Abu Hamza al-Mazri was involved in the support and personnel flow of terrorists. He was deported to a country where he had heritage. As for his free speech, I don't remember supporting the idea that he couldn't speak. You went and worked in countries that have far more extensive views than those you write about. You even argued on here against the criticism on Qatar when it was received criticism for its death for homosexuality law.....and you come back here and advocate against milk toast social conservative opinions on here. Turncoat. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Mar 2020 4.05pm)

1) One group of people is stealing their jobs, their women and their future why would anybody believe such a ludicrous idea ? Have you visited the dole office in some of the most deprived parts of the country ? Corona has given everybody the chance to be unemployed for a Month. Otherwise, not really my cup of tea.

Very nihilistically philosophical.....I kind of like it. On one level I'd agree with you.....humanism and egalitarianism have its place....for me though a secondary one. Essentially too much of that s***e and you end with your descendants being slaves. I've rejected that viewpoint as a betrayal of what I am.....Genes are all that are real, everything else is a concept and a form of control. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Mar 2020 4.22pm)

One guy did get imprisoned for 6 months in 1998, however. So please feel free to get indignant. I think of you as a massive LGBTQA supporter and am sure you regularly campaign for their rights. FYI, Al Jazeera has spoken out in favour of Gay rights. As you know I have a season ticket to watch AJ and have indeed done so more than thrice. By the way, my daughter has COVID-19. Bloomin young people and their stupid ideas about living in places of study.

Bloomin young people and their stupid ideas about living in places of study. Yet you chose to defend them. I certainly am against laws that would murder homosexuals and I will definitely criticise them enacted or not....theoretical or not. As for my view of western gay activism and how various laws have been changed....I'm extremely critical and several well known gay social conservatives agree with me. When these testing kits become available, I suspect a lot of people will find out they have had it without even knowing.

I simply said this was a cooked up load of outrage from people who are just itching to find anti-islamic opportunities. Sound familiar? Sorry ME, I am going to stop now and focus on the poor responses to COVID-19 from the UK and US. FFS, I wrote a policy on how we should handle this as employers 17 years ago, we've had enough time to prepare. It was just so predictable. Oddly enough I think Corbyn would have handled it better, a Government of National Unity or suchlike.
