But in the final analysis our sovereign is the highest authority in the land and if you want to oppose that then actually you are opposing our sovereignty. EFA - only she can dissolve parliament or ask a political leader to form a government, following which she has to formally open it again. Whilst historically she does not participate in the political arena she still has to sign off everything that parliament passes.

Indeed but of course our unwritten constitution means that she signs off on whatever Parliament asks her to sign off on. And so I come back to my previous statement that what we are watching here is our sovereignty in action.

Parliament only holds sovereignty because of the will of the people. If this shower think they can get away with ignoring that will they will be punished at the next election.

How surprising. He made a small fortune from LWT share options before joining the beeb. Do you think he'd have more political credibility if he'd donated it all to charity? He's a genuine working class bloke who pulled himself up by his boot straps. I thought you tory types were all for that kind of thing.

A teacher is employed to teach a subject, a person putting out opinion on a politics forum in their own time is a free agent. A school nor its original paymasters...aka...taxpayers are not paying teachers to teach their idea of politics to their children.....Politics shouldn't even be on the table until further education. The teachers who do that are not being professional. No offence taken....just moaning.

I am.....Doesn't mean I have to like the bloke's views does it? I had the displeasure of reading his political views and he managed to consistently annoy me....even more than the repeats. Do agree, and of course it is changing all the time. I really didn't get last week, the government in contempt of parliament (first time ever?), by it's own legal officer. Why no vote of confidence or dissolution?

Just out of curiosity how long do I have to live with the shame of this yellow icon? Do they disappear after a few years of good behaviour?
