I think the somewhat abusive tone of your post just speaks to who you are given the kind of views you have expressed many times.

Suffice to say we see life through a very different lens - not sure about the excrement! Others have commented on the role played by the EU so I won't repeat it.

I hope you prove to be welcoming to the refugees when they eventually start arriving here.

I have found it strange that we seem reluctant to impose sanctions on certain individuals. Maybe Abramovich is a British spy! Cannot understand why else he has not been sanctioned

There's a hell of a lot of Russian money in British politics, and so you never know who has been influenced and how, and how that in turn impacts sanctions and the like. A murky business!

You must have missed my earlier post about backing up your claim that "Britain has also done more than any EU country in supplying aid to Ukranians." - where has this come from?

Well when the party who run the country are propped up by Russian money, it gets difficult!

Way too many on here posting in a fashion to suit their own political agendas. You should be ashamed of yourselves. This is one of if not the worst crises we have experienced in our lifetime, simple as that and yet some still cannot help but make any failings that arise into a party political broadcast.

Let’s hope that at the end of all this we still have a country to manage and then you can lobby all you like.

Falling on deaf ears 'coops, certain posters will always find a way to push their own agenda regardless of what's happening in the world, whether it's a war or pandemic, politics must win out.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

JRM claims the UK has sanctioned more than even the USA, 258 billions here in London (Moscow calls it the 'letter-box) banks etc. not many individuals.

But that only shows where all the Russian slush is in the first place, here in the UK.

How did it get here, by the conservative party (otherwise known as the Putin pension plan).

10 years of becoming a sort of Kremlin-linked post office, a sort of hub of world dodginess and corruption.

For the tories to be weaned off Russia will clearly not be easy.

Quote "The people of Ukraine are under attack. As game developers we want to create new worlds, not to destroy the one we have. That's why we've banded together to present this charity bundle to help Ukrainians survive this ordeal and thrive after the war ends. This cause has resonated with creators around the globe, to the extent that our bundle contains almost 1,000 games, tabletop RPGs, books, etc.

All proceeds from this bundle will be split between the following charities:

- International Medical Corps provides medical assistance in the region. They have very low fundraising overhead (1% of income), with 89% of donations going to medical aid and 10% to administration.

- Voices of Children, a Ukrainian organization that helps children cope with the horrors of war, PTSD, readjusting to school, and getting back to being kids. They have also been doing a lot of grassroots impromptu work during the war, such as helping set up shelters. Our hope is that this war will be over soon, and they can begin the work of healing these kids' hearts.

- [Link]

There are of course more direct ways of donating, but I figured this was a nice coming together of creators, and way for gamers and the like (some books bundles in there too) to donate what they are able to as part of this effort. Over a million dollars raised so far. Cheers.

Unfortunately as I have said many times, once in the UK very difficult, if not impossible to deport an asylum seeker. This is not the time to go into this, I do understand the need for checks but young children with their mothers, I suspect, are not a problem. 3 year temporary visa and assess then.

Apparently we opened and then closed a Visa office in Calais although not helpful I can understand the logic. The government is concerned that other migrants will simply claim they are from the Ukraine and clog up the system.

During the Yugoslav civil war most people who claimed to be Bosnian victim refugees were actually Serbs, same with Zimbabwe they were mainly the ones doing the oppressing.

Anyway the government needs to get it's act together.

"(Reuters) - Ukrainian state arms manufacturer Ukroboronprom said on Tuesday it would pay $1 million to anyone who captured a combat-ready Russian military aircraft - an offer it said was open to Russian pilots wanting to switch sides.

The firm will pay $500,000 for every helicopter"

I see both the Premier League and the FA have suspended their contracts in Russia with immediate effect.

I can see why they have done it, no-one wants to be showing Putin an inch of support, but I wonder if it's actually wise?

Surely the players could wear messages on their shirts and pictures of the devastation shown on the big screens during breaks in play and before, at half and full time. Showing even a bit of reality makes sense.

Doubtless it would be taken off-air by the Russians, but then it would cause questions to be asked. Best they feel the heat, not us.

What do others think?
