Latest survey amonst Conservative Party members reveals that 71.5% want MPs to vote down the deal whilst 26% do not want MPs to do so. I'm hardly surprised as this very much reflects the views of many, many members I have spoken to. There's only so many options given the need for a backstop to protect the Irish border. Norway doesn't work because of free movement. So given that no one is thrilled with the 'deal' and no one else has come up with a workable alternative - I really think we have a choice. Deal or WTO.

This whole Backstop arrangement represents a total capitulation to the EU.If somehow this was removed or amended, this would seal the deal but the EU are insistent that without this backstop there isn't a deal. I accept that 'Norway' with it's free movement is not what the people voted for. We have heard of 'Norway plus', 'Canada plus plus' etc etc etc. I get a sense that the electorate have got bore rigid by all of this ! Edited by Willo (08 Dec 2018 11.05am)

I read somewhere that under the terms of Article 50, we can actually leave with no deal, and if the EU agree, we can continue to trade exactly as we have been doing (provided that we maintain the current standards of trade) for a period not exceeding 10 years, whilst we come to mutually acceptable arrangements........ strangely, no-one else seems to have mentioned this.

Article 50 is the trigger to leave and not much more, the terms of the withdrawal is by separate negotiation (I think).

Amber Rudd is another remainer.....it's painfully obvious that she's offering up a worse deal to try to sell the PM's dog's dinner. I don't give a monkey's what deal a remainer thinks is on. This process should have been headed by a Brexiter and frankly without one we haven't had a real negotiation......Davies resigned because the PM capitulated. This deal won't pass whatever Amber (positioning herself) Rudd thinks......I hope to soon see the day when she has zero influence on anything politically significant.

One never heard of David Davis for quite a while and Olly Robbins became very prominent.A brexiteer in Raab was appointed but by then the train was way down the line.

Still, whoever you are, it doesn't matter to me. You have the right to your opinion and while I don't speak for the mods, we don't censor politically here. Unlike some other places.
