Considering how many people have been vaccinated, an incredibly disproportionate amount of unvaccinated are in hospital. Your limp view is 'ohhh do what you do' 'make your own choice' 'don't suggest to people what they should do'. Well clearly these people drew a conclusion more aligned to your nonsense than my sense and I would rather they didn't do that funnily enough. Ultimately, I'm about as interested in taking health advice from you as I am drink advice from George Best. The pretense that you're suddenly keyed into this issue is about as risible as your deplorable prior aspergers contributions. You care about things when they're either politically in your 'clan' (fringe cash for clicks vultures who couldn't give a monkeys toss about you), or if it impacts you very directly. Beyond that whatever inflates your sense of self is what goes. To a cruel extent. If you'd been at death's door with Covid, clearly you'd have been on here singing a different tune. You've just played Russian roulette with your health - past, present and likely future and got away with it so far. If you want to do that for yourself, go for it. For others, not so much. Edited by BlueJay (28 Jan 2022 4.14am) Excellent post. Punchy, thought-provoking, and amusing. Particularly like some of the analogies and metaphors. "Click vultures" made me smile!

Hilarious that the guy who constantly cried about personal attacks takes delight in them being delivered. As expected. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Jan 2022 10.44am)

Positive data from UKHSA. The booster reduces likelihood of death by 95% - and hospitalisation 90%, months after being boosted. Certainly over time that will fall, but it's clearly reducing both deaths and hospitalisations significantly and staggering this wave in such a way that it's more manageable. Considering the current vaccine is still for a much earlier variant, and people will eventually likely pick up mild symptomatic cases that would have otherwise caused them a lot of problem (and may instead now offer a further 'boost') we're not in bad shape. As has often been posited, unless there is a major curveball going forward, we will likely end up in a position where it's an yearly updated 'flu jab' type situation before long. Where the numbers remain low, likely primarily for groups mostly at risk. The vaccine has done and is doing exactly what we'd hope it would. Edited by BlueJay (28 Jan 2022 12.36pm)

Ad hominem, as usual. As you have just celebrated them you're a hypocrite.....but again, that's no surprise. As you are someone who refuses to stop posting at me despite me having asked you to stop many times I regard you as a person with little integrity and hence when you display your basic dishonesty I'll comment.

Thousands needed to try a new Covid antiviral treatment - [Link] Quote Over-50s and younger adults with underlying health conditions are being urged to participate in a study of a life-saving treatment for Covid-19.
The study is open to those who test positive for Covid and had symptoms develop in the previous five days. Volunteers will be given pills to take at home. The study will help decide how antiviral drugs will be used, Prof Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, the deputy chief medical officer for England, said. Launched in December, it already has 4,500 people signed up but needs 6,000 more as soon as possible. The study is for those who 'currently' have Covid, so if that's you and you feel that this study is of interest the sign page is here [Link]

More ad hominems. I made no, and won't make, any personal comments. So no "celebrations" of any kind. Comments on a post's style are impersonal, especially when replying to a third party. I don't post "at" anyone. I respond to posts. I also have a right to defend myself against personal attacks. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (28 Jan 2022 6.39pm)

After asking you to stop posting at me in disgust over your attitudes towards the Police's handling of grooming gangs I stopped posting at you for a long time....in the hope that you'd find the decency to stop posting at a person who had made it clear multiple times he didn't want to engage with you. You didn't have that decency. So if I'm forced to have your rubbish posted at my posts then I'm going to reply because otherwise it looks like I'm accepting it. So fine, if I'm forced to deal with your unwanted posts I'm going to reply with what I think of them.....and as most of them are dripping in disingenuous crap I'm going to call that out. Don't like it, don't post at me. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Jan 2022 2.22pm)

At the end of the day I'm interested in people making sensible and considered health choices on something that takes very little time to tick that box. I have no interest in anyone being forced to get vaccinated, or over or underplaying the pros or cons of vaccination in the young...and little interest also in relentless lopsided bombardments that only ever succeed is underplaying the immense good the vaccine has provably done that could dissuade people from making sensible decisions if uncontested. Peoples lives are more important than that.
