Not forgetting the 3.25% employee +15.05% employer NI on top of the tax.... and bankers are not famous for stashing their bonuses in pensions funds or deposit accounts, so a great deal of that will go back into the economy. Exactly and as posted before if you earn your bosses a lot of money you deserve a decent bonus and lots of these people earn a hell of a profit for their employers.

On all the main decisions that have caused the cost of living crises (covid and Ukraine) Labour have backed the governmental decisions with the only difference being that they would have gone harder on them. I've been in a minority who stood against all of those economic decisions. I don't have a party to vote for.....for a significant number of people in this country there is taxation without representation. Edited by Stirlingsays (24 Jun 2022 9.05am)

Tories got a good spanking last night from what was clearly tactical voting. (Labour lost their deposit in Tiverton, Lib-Dems lost their deposit in Wakefield) This points towards a 'Progressive' Alliance but the massive question is, can that actually win an election? Suspect that it would have to be informal but would probably require a pledge from Labour on the EU that would be difficult for it to make. Interesting times ahead.

Which given the pro-EU sentiment of the Libs, and a significant amount of Labours activist base, means Brexit comes into the mix again along with the refugee/migration issue which is potentially all going to merge into one over the ECHR.

The writing is on the wall for BJ. It's going to be a long and drawn out political death, giving Boris time to destroy incriminating evidence and Carrie time to asset-strip furnishings from No.10 and who will he bring down with him ? Edited by Forest Hillbilly (24 Jun 2022 4.09pm)
