This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke scores a Hatrick' by Midlands Eagle Erm, depends what you define as forgiven. If he scored a hat-trick against our fiercest rivals and that in turn dragged us over the line to safety then I wouldn't be very hard on him for the rest of the season. I'd still want him sold in the summer and new striker brought into the club. If he scores a hat-trick and then misses sitters for the rest of the season which result in us being relegated I'd still blame him for a lot of it after the chances he's missed and stealing that penalty in the Bournemouth game. To be truly redeemed he'd need to score a hat-trick, then score and assist several more helping us win all 5 games remaining and finishing comfortably. He'd then cry at the end of the season speech on the pitch and beg for one more chance and I'd say he should stay until January. That last ones a bit unlikely so I guess the answer is to your initial question is temporarily yes, but not really, I'd still dislike him a lot.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke scores a Hatrick' by Midlands Eagle I don't think there's anything to forgive as such. He's having a disastrous season, undoubtedly, but it can only require forgiveness if he's either doing it on purpose, or disobeying management orders, which I don't think he is. Even if lack of work rate in tracking back is an issue, you'd have to think that's on management orders to preserve his energy for what it's needed for up front (and if it's not, it's down to management to kick his backside)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke scores a Hatrick' by Midlands Eagle I hope he scores loads in any of our final games. Then we might be able to sell him to someone, and get him off our wage bill and get a good price for him. Who wants a 5hlt striker who can't score ?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke scores a Hatrick' by Midlands Eagle even if he scores just one goal it would be a hattrick of sorts I suppose

Honestly this whole 'would you want Benteke playing against you?' question, i think is stupid. If I was an opposition defender, the answer would be yes please he'll do my clearing work for me

Maybe we can appeal to the PL Goals Accreditation Panel. [Link] Benteke was on the pitch when some of our other goals went in. If we can credit a lot of these to Benteke, he could end up being our top scorer this season.

I do think the current system doesn't favour him which is why he is not looking so great also just think of it this way you are being asked to do something you are not best at and dont like this tends to effect you I think this is large case with him. the other things are his attitude he does appear lie nice guy but he has that vibe about him like a arrogance/cockiness which doesn't come across well his penalty misses show this (just compare ronaldo penalty to bentekes last minute ones big difference) with the players we have defoe would of been perfect for us but i do think if roy changed it so zaha and townsend put balls in box benteke could be scoring more we dont really do this anymore and when we do both players mostly zaha mess about on the ball rather then quick ball in.

So now Wilf holding up the ball is messing about rather then taking pressure of our defense and giving us an actual chance to build. Amazing. I have to agree the crossing is often poor, however what has been very conspicuous is that crosses at the far post mainly seem to disappaer in nomansland. You would think that Roy would have sorted that. Either the crossing is poorer then I would imagine possible, or the running both into and around the box could be a lot more smarter too. I have to agree with Grumpy. We do not play to Big Bens strengths. We don't whip in enough balls with height. We like to play it low and last minute rather than high and early. Which is why we see the likes of Jimmy getting on to the end of things and scoring more. I just think he is not an ideal fit. So we have two options, play more to his strengths or change personal. The latter is not a great option as we have no other strikers!

Only the top six clubs have had more shots than us this season: ...but with regard to Tekkers it doesn't make good reading though. 57 shots, 19 on target, only 2 goals. On a positive note, only Townsend has provided more assists this season, and he is runaway leader in the PL for aerial battles won: He is clearly devoid of confidence and the question is whether he can get it back. Whatever happens what we can't do is sell him before we get an adequate replacement.
