Yep, I definitely don't recommend big holes in limbs. It's feeling better each day though....no painkillers today. My knee looks like Wally’s shirt where the prop hit me after I kicked up at the hull to try to get lower in the water I am so lucky I wasn’t wearing a life jacket. Had I been I would not be nearly as gorgeous nor a father.

Wales' first minister accuses the UK government of "abandoning the science" as he defends his more cautious lifting of restrictions Kind of mirrors my own sentiments, but i would be biased living in Wales

Hopefull you'll be fully recovered in no-time, and all the better for a lesson learned

You couldn’t be more wrong. This is no cold. Researchers working with the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) believe it has "substantial" resistance to natural immunity provided by previous infections. Early research shows it reduces two doses of Pfizer to 30 percent effectiveness, with AstraZeneca potentially down to zero. While the booster can reforge it back to 75 percent, the programme is still some distance from covering everyone, meaning many are at Omicron's mercy. Preliminary studies published in the UK and South Africa have found between 30 percent and 70 percent fewer people require hospital treatment. We don’t yet know to what extent as it is so early, but we do know this variant is a killer. I know some who have been very ill with it. Note also that Delta is still rife, currently we have a dual epidemic
75% was originally hailed as fantastic wasn’t it? I get your concern. Maybe I just view being in care as seeing your last days out in some comfort without struggle and stress, rather than staying alive for as many years or months as possible when quality of life or memory of it, or anything, fades away. And sweeping out many care workers might still end up counter productive. Poor care or illness can kick start more serious illnesses or make dementia worse so unless this goes smoothly, I don’t see the benefit. I’m not really that strongly against it. I just think it could be a mistake.

Rumour now is mandatory vaccination might be paused due to fears the NHS will lose 70,000 staff.

Vaccine passes and curbs lifted from tomorrow morning in Ireland. We've basically all had Covid, but the government can't use the words "herd immunity" as Boris used them once.
