If you live in some parts of the country it still doesn’t make much difference to you, but it will, and unless we have the power to do anything about it, we’ll never be able to, halt or reduce the numbers. This is where you constantly let yourself down. Spot on, in 74 we voted for the Common Market and as they say the rest is History and its evolution has created the mess that we are currently in. Had we stayed as a Common Market and not a Federal Europe I doubt there would have been a referendum and if it had what would have been the appetite to leave. Isn't it bizarre that the very reason it started is proving the major sticking point now and this being the freedom to trade with other European Countries free of tariffs.

We joined in 1973 (without a referendum) and there was a referendum in 1975, where the vote was to stay in. This was before the idea of federalism which was codified first in the Treaty of Maastricht and later the Treaty of Lisbon, neither of which were referred to the electorate.

Ok then, like we didn't get a vote after the common market for forty years we'll give you the same chance in forty years as well....how about that. A lot of you complained that we had this vote in the first place so consider yourself lucky if you even get that. Edited by Stirlingsays (04 Dec 2018 9.00pm)

This is my point Brexiters argue the 2016 vote was binary in or out, everything else is mere detail, brexit means brexit But so was 1975, so therefore whatever has transpired since is all wrapped up in that, we voted in and accepted whatever the rules were You can't have it both ways

Just stop this pathetic crap. In or out is exactly what the vote was. Why can't you sad bitter Remainers just accept that? Stop trying to pretend that no one knew it would be difficult. That is self serving bollocks.

Why can't you lot just accept that you're not going to get what you voted for? 52% voted out yet it is obvious that we're not leaving. Why don't you start getting angry with the arseholes who tucked you up instead of with us? You're trust in the nation's leaders isn't any lower than ours is.
