This post has been merged from a topic called 'Kevin Phillips ?' by Guntrisoft With not being overwhelmed with the choices available to become our new manager,would KP be worth a punt? I see he could be a shout for the Sunderland post,im thinking him working along side Sammy Lee could be a good combo,i know it would be a risk but the others mentioned dont fill me with confidence.

What I think absolute crazy is the amount of stick or the potential candidates get. While Ranieri or hodgson are not desirable. Did appointments of big Sam or pulis. Really get fans mouth watering. Whilst the England debacle tainted hodgson career. With a similar size club in Fulham and wba. He done a great job. He got Fulham to a European final. He took wba to 8th place. Ranieri who won the premier league less than 12 months ago. So easily dismissed. We'd all want a big name or a desirable choice but the reality is that type of candidate wouldn't Palace as an exciting project . Coyp

According to TalkSport Palace few minutes ago Palace fan Neil Ashton has today writen an exclusive about Woy Hodgson wanting the Palace job. Please god no.Hodgson should retire. I never forget being in Devon watching us being humiliated by Iceland in the world cup.

It doesn't take away his achievement of a European final with Fulham.

Sometimes it is hard to see past someones recent failings but he did do a decent job at Fulham and WBA and it could be argued he was reasonable at a Liverpool in transition.

You will never get agreement amongst fans on anybody but don't forget that when Pulis and Allardyce were appointed we were in the brown stuff and both were acknowledged experts at firefighting so the bulk of fans were happy with their appointments. The situation now is different as we aren't in trouble so perhaps what we are looking for is a bit different as we need someone to take as onwards and upwards
