Talk this morning of The Maybot calling a General Election if she doesn't get her way. I wonder if this is just another scare tactic for her MPs because it doesn't make sense.

The Tory party like the country is split so what are you voting for? If you are a Tory but don't want the deal how do you vote? Same applies to Labour their position is rather unclear so if you are voting for Corbyn what exactly are you voting for?

It would only make sense if the Tory party was 100% behind Theresa but she didn't have the votes in Parliament to pass it as labour was a Remain party. She could then ask the country vote for me and this deal or vote Labour and Remain a clear choice.

I don't think a General Election at this stage will resolve anything.

Political suicide!

When those chosen to represent us (pfft), those that print fake money along with the owned media all want the same thing............there's always a reason. A reason that doesn't, and never has, benefited the public.

But Remainers know best?

Perhaps if we made voting a legal requirement we'd have had a different scenario in the referendum...but also it wouldn't have happened as it wouldn't have been the tories in power?

Personally I would only allow those who pay into the tax system a vote on electing a government (with exceptions like the retired or disabled).....like the old days.

We have a huge number of people who take out more than they put in getting to vote on the economic direction the country goes in.

Yet they are the opposite of economically successful themselves.

Fascinating goings on over the government legal advice on brexit..

The government is blocking the release of the full advice despite a binding commons motion to do so.

Instead they have published their own version.

The problem could be the wording, the May version does not have 'indefinite' in the wording regarding the backstop, the full advice apparently does.

Johnson JRM and most others suspect it means we are locked into the customs union and cannot get out without EU approval.

The wriggling is amazing, the extent to which a PM will go we have seen before, of course.

Why do they do it? Really don't know - as time catches up with them, usually after they are gone.

In this case please let it be soon.

For once I am with Labour on this. Most of us suspect that the PM is lying and that she knows we cannot leave this agreement unless the EU consent and no doubt they will wring concessions out of us. I think the full advice will make that clear and like I said if we ever see it the PM has some explaining to do.

I'm not sure you have the vote unless registered for council tax. Emphasis - not sure.

However.the sponging underclass you allude to: do many of them actually vote?

Not too much leverage in the subsequent free trade negotiation then. In fact none at all.

Surely the Attorney General, Cox, is wrong here.

It is not up to him to decide what is in the national interest, it is parliament.

That is what parliament decided, that the government must publish the full brexit advice.

Proceedings for contempt here inevitable?
