If we were gonna have some players out the door this summer, I would be happy to see Sakho and Townsend leave. Sakho is too injury prone and expensive and Townsend seems so have seen his best days or is at least off form. Never been particularly impressed with McCarthy either but have a feeling he ain’t going anywhere.

Update: Eze should be completed this week, fee all agreed & player terms agreed. We have got our man. Word on the street is that we should have two signed within the week I assume the other is the young German centre back ?

We ain't any further down the line with eze than we was 2 weeks ago we haven't put in a second bid for him at all so where dazza is getting his info from is living this is going down to transfer deadline day and my info is correct according to ed arrons from the guardian so let's wait and see we will have no new signing before the opening game of the season The question that you should be asking is where is Ed Aarons getting his information from?

Never really understood why Townsend doesn’t score more goals than he does. 12 league goals in 4 years and 30 in his entire career is pitiful. The sooner we offload him the better.

I like him for his hard work and tracking back but he has ran his course as a winger, definitely time for an upgrade but Townsend will be a good squad player.

I'm waiting for that Palace transfer window when, by the end of it, our only wingers will be Townsend and Schlupp. Hardly unprecedented with us. I must say that even Roy would walk with that.

I always thought that Townsend never really wanted to leave Newcastle. Had they not been relegated, he would have stayed and our offer would have been rejected. Abit like Benteke, he never really wanted to leave Liverpool and was never really the same player. They see us as a step down, rather than an opportunity to get back to the top.

They see us as a step down, rather than an opportunity to get back to the top. We are most certainly a step down from Liverpool so that's hardly surprising but no-one forced Benteke to leave and he preferred to play football at a smaller club than swan around on the bench at a big club so your supposition is incorrect

One year of goals followed by 3 years of tumble weed and a contract extension.

Breaking everywhere now Eze to Palace agreed £19.5m told you weeks ago deal £20m. What a signing.
