"Taking back control" by being America's laptop. Wrong thread? Still, kudos for being able to type about political lapdogs while you're deep throating the EU. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Jul 2019 6.44pm)

Once again you are under the impression that your acceptance of a situation is of paramount importance. No. I am under the impression that it is for those who make assertions to prove them. I have tried to help you but cannot find anything, so now it's over to you. If you read this then you can find it. I have no more idea where to look.

Kim Darroch is pro EU and a globalist, am glad he's gone. He is a professional diplomat who told the truth as he saw it, in confidence and bluntly. The truth as shared by the vast majority in the UK, and I think, the USA too. His personal feelings about the EU etc are irrelevant to his capacity to do his job. However once again they are also the views of most of his countrymen too, in my opinion.

Have you listened to that Radio 4 interview with the former Crown Prosecutor for the North East that I posted? Or does it have to be in black and white for you t believe it? No I haven't. Where I am the Internet cannot handle such things. I will when I return home next week. One person's opinion doesn't amount to too much, but I will listen.

At least this saves me some of the searching back on your commentary on this affair. However, there are still some comments I will highlight later. You have repeated your apologist attitudes for the handling of this affair and no doubt how our authorities are continuing to handle it. I find your apologist attitude abhorrent and unethical. Thousands of girls were raped over decades and Police and authorities knew about it.....No one sacked. I also note that you reject anything other than the most charitable explanation for these circumstances.....Again in stark contrast to your attitude in other areas in this forum. All the smear mongers on the left and the ones shouting 'racist' are responsible for the climate of fear that contributed to the coward decisions taken in these cases. Here is an Ex-Detective who worked on sex cases in this area on investigations which were closed down. She pretty much describes what was going on in the most moderate way herself....she no doubt has to worry what is said on TV.....However, she says enough to make it plain who the kind of people are with apologist attitudes. It's those people with explanations like yours which enabled the continued rape of thousands of young and underage girls in this country. And you have the cheek to come on here and point fingers at Robinson.....He is shouting for it to be known about by everyone and you support those who wanted it to go under the radar. Without accountability nothing changes. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Jul 2019 6.40pm) I am apologising for no-body. If deliberate mistakes were made then hold those responsible to account. If though they were simply error of judgement then learn from them and improve. It's neither controversial, nor "abhorrent and unethical". Indeed your assertion that it is "still going on" is much more abhorrent and unethical! I speculate about the background reasoning because that's all any of us can do. The same applies in other threads. Look at the evidence and reason out why. You draw your conclusions and I do mine. However, once again you serve away from the real point I have concentrated on. Which is not the grooming gang issue itself, or the way the authorities handled it. This thread is about "Robinson" and my remarks concern only whether his activities helped deal with these problems or, by interfering in due process, made things worse. I believe the latter. You don't. I am not either supporting those who "wanted it under the radar". All I have said is that might have been their motivation. See the difference? I am concentrating on "Robinson's" role and motivations. You see him as some kind of folk hero, exposing the evil authorities in their efforts to hide heinous crimes. I see him as an attention seeking rabble rouser with a bigger agenda, who is exploiting a serious matter for his own purposes. And yes, I was able to watch that video, as for enough time I had the bandwidth here to do so. Impressive, honest lady who cares about those who suffered and demands accountability for her senior officers. I have no issues with anything she said. I would though like to hear her opinion on "Robinson's" contribution to this for it wasn't mentioned. She concentrated on the crimes and the way they were investigated. I am discussing "Robinson". This is, after all, his thread.

You are on a wind up surely. You are the one on the wind up! This thread is about Robinson". That's what I am addressing. You, and others, constantly try to divert the debate onto the grooming gang investigations and the way they were handled. Whilst relevant in context on their own they aren't.

But you say he deserves punishment for what he did outside court. No, the issue is whether what he did helped or hindered the investigation. Not the investigation itself.
