Labour under Blair began the process of introducing private companies into the nhs.

Indeed. Read Colin Leys book [Link]
On how the Coalition accelerated the process.

Doesn't detract from the fact that:
a) the blood plasma firm was sold very cheaply (is this Jeremy Hunts gold sell off)
b) could end up in the hands of anybody. What if (and it is a big if I know but I'm using it to illustrate a point) the Chinese sold it to North Korea.
C) is asset stripping still a thing? Can these corporations suddenly increase their prices - there's been plenty of scandal about the price of some drugs going up hundreds of percent in price.

What used to be ours is now left to the markets. You can say labour started it, which may be a valid point. But it doesn't answer are address the issues now.
Check how many mp's (yes I know dissolution of Parliament happened today pedants) have financial interests in heathcare companies. The same companies that are being awarded contracts.
Same with schools, Lord Harris Tory donor gets his hands loads of schools.

Think about this when you are voting.

Yes I'll think about Labour's record on the NHS and what would happen if a bunch Labour incompetents were allowed to run my country lead by a man who would not defend it.

Abbott was as bad an interview as you could hear. Big fanfare 10,000 new police, Shadow Home Secretary makes an absolute balls up. Of course that is news. Even after making a balls up coming out with "misspoke" just adds fuel to the fire.

The safe space reports is the left's take on what happened. Essentially she is being careful, given their lead and when you see what happened to Farron can you blame her?

The media ARE frustrated with Labour HQ, poor or no responses to questions submitted by the media and the allegedly obstructive behaviour does no favours. They need to up their game, Blair whatever you think of him, ran very slick media campaigns

This is true. There's no getting away from the fact the Abbott thing was jaw droppingly awful.

However it's a sad indictment of the press that they use it to gloss over other stories, that had they been labour 'gaffes' it would be everywhere.

The nhs must have been corrupt for many years (at the top and the buyers).
I remember years ago reading the nhs were paying way over the top for basic supplies.
There is no doubt it needs (to coin a medical term),major surgery.
Do I think it should be sold off...no, does it need it need a complete overhaul yes big time.
I have had some dealings with my doctor and the hospital over the last couple of months, and I have to say it's been first class, appointments on time follow ups from the hospitals fine.
I have had 2 ct scans and not one single problem with the hospital at all.
And the standard of hygiene and cleanliness has been exceptional.

I think the issue is more a case if it being Abbott rather than Labour. She has been in the tv almost daily the last few years so has her own high profile.

I am off today and had BBC News 24 on and over the space of a couple of hours seem to have covered most political bases. They certainly haven't spared May.

I would like whoever is in power to review the NHS from top to bottom. Everything from funding and training to use and where private health fits in. The trouble is it will take years and anyone who mentions it in a manifesto will get slaughtered and accused of trying make cuts. We cannot carry on the way we are it was never designed to do what it is currently expected to do.

I think the Tory manifesto is out this weekend. About well timed. Everyone is gettysick, bored and tired of 'strong and stable' with no policies or pledges and sticking to scripts and no unexpected questions. I voted for Brexit but if there's nothing else in there presentation to the country I'm p1ssed off.
