I think you are looking for the below, as the "Jason" take has bass added as justice for Jason. Reason I think this is ... Metallica's 1988 record …And Justice For All famously has zero bass on it. Some speculate that this is because it's the band's first record with Jason Newsted after the death of Cliff Burton, but who really knows. Metallica is currently remastering all their albums and didn't boost the low end at all, even though at one point it seemed like they might due to a comment by James Hetfield. Drummer Lars Ulrich defended the bass-lessness of …And Justice For All, and that seems to be that. Now in a new interview with Metallica fan magazine So What!, Hetfield says that Newsted probably did approach he and Ulrich about the lack of bass at some point. Hetfield adds that it wasn't a shot at Newsted either, but the result of the band being genuinely burnt out. "He probably did. I don't know what my answer was then, but it was kinda done. I mean, I will say, it was not all about, 'f*** him. Let's turn him down.' That's for sure. We wanted the best-sounding record we could make. That was our goal. We were burnt. We were frigging fried. Going back and forth [between touring and mixing the album]. Playing a gig. No earplugs, no nothing. You go back into the studio, your hearing is shot. If your ears can't hear any high end anymore, you're gonna turn it up. So we're turning the high end up more and more and more and all of a sudden, low end's gone. So I know that played a bigger part than any hazing or any ill feelings towards Jason, for sure. We were fried. We were burnt." Metallica - ...and Justice for All 1. Blackened Download [Link] I saw Metallica in 1988 on the 'Justice' tour at the then Hammersmith Odeon. Couple of thousand people. Then in 1994 at Woodstock (25th anniversary) in front of around 200,000 people. Apart from the bitchiness between band members, they were always going to be great.

Del, I think Gillan's vocals are still very prominent but the band do appear to have slipped into a more middle of the road sound but saying that I do like the catchy Throw My Bones...... Originally posted by Deleagle

Make you own minds up folks, Packed full of decadent riffs, haunted house keyboards and frontman Ian Gillan’s gloriously hammy vocals, ‘Whoosh!’ isn’t just a testament to their staying power, but perhaps one of the most stupidly fun and outrageously silly albums of the year – and goodness, we’re all in need of a bit of fun right now, aren’t we? Gillan has offered the following enjoyably nonsensical explanation of the album title: “Whoosh is an onomatopoeic word that, when viewed through one end of a radio-telescope, describes the transient nature of humanity on Earth; and, through the other end from a closer perspective, illustrates the career of Deep Purple.” Digging this deep into the meaning behind ‘Whoosh!’ isn’t necessary – this is an album that can and should be enjoyed without over-thinking. Dramatic opener ‘Throw My Bones’ sets the tone with a guitar solo worthy of being played shirtless on a stormy clifftop. And the song fades out! How long has it been since you last heard a song fade out?! That Deep Purple don’t give a s*** is undeniably part of this record’s appeal – it’s at once totally out of step with modern times and just the kind of thing we need to soothe one of the worst years in living memory. While the aggressive rockabilly of ‘What The What’ might have overdone it with the boogie-woogie piano, ‘Nothing At All’ is a chugging, timeless rock ballad of the kind that will absolutely destroy rock night dancefloors across the globe, while the strutting ‘No Need To Shout’ shows you where Guns N’ Roses got all their ideas from. The utterly anthemic ‘The Long Way Round’, meanwhile, is a dead cert for the car stereo next time we get stuck in traffic on the M4 to Slough. Sure, ‘Whoosh!’ might not sound like it was created in 2020, but considering the last few months we’ve had, maybe that’s a good thing. Deep Purple - Whoosh! 1. Too egotistical for my liking as I said Nic's quote was from their website and therefore very self promoting and not a fans view, definitely not mine Each to their own but I will give it another listen with fresh ears and not hoping what I was expecting
