While I think cryrst is right that this doesn't happen in practice.....I would agree with you as a general point.

However considering your politics....or at least the politics of those you support in posts on here I struggle to understand how you advance this point.....As the left consider meritocracy as an impedance to other box ticks it's far more eager on.

Brexit was decided by referendum and reaffirmed as the country's direction by the last election. It hardly makes sense to have ministers against implementing Brexit in a cabinet....However, that doesn't mean that they should be uncritical.

I think the general point is a good one. It's been proven many times in history as a mistake to be surrounded by 'Yes men'. The generals in Vietnam led Johnson and others to believe that they were winning in Vietnam when in truth the rules they fought by meant that was impossible.....the difference between what was relayed to government and what was happening on the ground were significantly divergent.

The single biggest recent example being Afghanistan. How anyone still has faith in what comes out from government and media is beyond me: they are liars....not least to themselves.

And that is perhaps the hardest lie to deal with. While it's relatively easy to spot lies from others the hardest lies to spot are the ones we tell to ourselves.

That link provided by WE is from a far left commentator whose latest videos accuse the BBC of transphobia. He couldn't fit those accusations into one video, it required two.

As for his criticisms regarding Jimmy Dore....I watched the first five minutes and it's all about Dore's vaccine coverage. I'm not going to sit through a far leftist's video for comments relating to Dore on Gates that aren't signposted.

As WE has obviously watched this....if he hasn't then why link, then these criticisms should be said or at least linked to a specific video on them, not just some link to a 50 minute video that covers multiple areas...that's a waste of my time .
