This post has been merged from a topic called 'Could we tempt Brendan Rodgers to Palace?' by Guntrisoft Respectfully I disagree. He was average at Liverpool and anything won with Celtic means diddly squat. It's a joke of a league and he could have stayed at home and won the treble.

Remember the last players who were 'average' at Liverpool. How did Sakho and Benteke do this season. Who you actually expecting Palace to get then.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Could we tempt Brendan Rodgers to Palace?' by Guntrisoft Football up here has to be seen to be believed. I went to a second-tier match the other week and was bored to sleep by half time. All they did was hoof the ball from one penalty area to the other. But attendance at football matches per capita is said to be higher here than anywhere else in Europe. I don't see how a manager of the calibre of Rodgers could be satisfied for long with sitting there at Celtic with not much to play for: the only meaningful opposition disappeared when the Rangers board got caught with its fingers in the till. Then there is the whole Celtic-Rangers sectarian thing which is beyond stupid. It means that 80% of people you see in Celtic colours know and care f*** all for football and wear them as some sort of uniform. Same for Rangers. People turn up to Mass in Celtic colours FFS. What would your vicar say if you went to evensong with your Palace top on? Ours would've done his f***ing nut. Idiots in green hoops everywhere. I would be over the moon if we could rescue this poor chap from this alternate reality and install him as manager at Selhurst, where he would of course be excellent. But I think he's plugged into the culture of it now and if you pull him out he'll get withdrawal symptoms. There's also quite a few decent players being wasted on this s*** these days. I'm afraid garry monk is destined to be the next palace manager. why? the answer may surprise you. After dougie freedman, the palace managers have, in sequential order, become progressively better. No, not in terms of managerial ability, but in terms of their hair/hairstyle. Think about it. First was holloway, who had none, then pulis, who had a very sparse amount, then warnock, whose hair troubles are well-documented, then pardew, who had decent style but all grey, and finally allardyce, whose classic side part was an improvement on pardew's pompous quiff. Interesting logic. In which case I think Parish hsould appoint - himself, as he has by far the best hairstyle!

This post has been merged from a topic called 'managerial merrygoround' by Guntrisoft There's no evidence or reports that monk even a target. Also has Steve parish even started the process of finding the next manager.
