And your reason for that is because I didn't boycott the mirror?

No but judging a paper on its unfair representation of a football team is a bit pathetic whereas I judge a paper on the fact of how racisit, homophobic and completly ignorant of the facts it usually is (not mentioning the mail today as an example)

I think you need to stop judging people on what paper they chose to read Stu, Piers got what was coming to him with regards to those photos, but all the other papers jumped on the bandwagon too until they were found to be fake so they are all guilty. I have a 28 minute commute I read what I can if not I sleep!

Well actually I am currently reading a book called Brick Lane therefore have no reason to read a paper on the train, and no its not because it is easy to read. The mirror is a tabloid in fierce competition with the sun and will do anything to gain a higher readership. I am intelligent enough not to take what is in papers as gospel. When i mean 'read what I can' I mean what papers are left in the shop at the station which just happens to occasionally be the mirror.

I've only just read this topic and I must say Cucking Funt's post on page 9 is extremely well put across and I wholeheartedly agree! As a footnote, does anyone find the following offensive? If you know rugby, you would know that the front row are renowned for being tough but thick. Remember the joke about the rugby team going to dinner on tour? The backs order steak. "What about the vegetables?" asks the waiter. "Oh, they'll have steak, too," the backs say. A mate of mine felt that it was offensive to people in comas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about PC gone mad! Forget immigrants, it's the white PC brigade that are wrecking this country. Edited by Penge Eagle (02 Dec 2004 1:18am)

Quote redacted Yeah ***, I think you knew my comment was not to be taken literally. Are you able to detect irony?"As others have noted here, the problem is not with non-whites but the do-gooding, Guardian reading, left wing thinkers who have us by the throats from Downing Street, through to the town halls up and down the country."Do you really think Blair is a left-wing Guardian reading do-gooder? He's more right-wing that many Tory PM's have been, and as for Blunkett, he's out-Howarded Howard as the least liberal Home Secretary in living memory! For the record, these are the stats from the last local council elections (from [Link] )Tories: over 8000 council seats in Great Britain (37% of the total, more than any other party)Labour: approx 6700 seats, 30% of the totalLib Dems: approx 4700 seats, 21% of the totalSo to use a phrase like "do-gooding, Guardian reading, left wing thinkers who have us by the throats from Downing Street, through to the town halls up and down the country" is palpably wrong. You can see more councillors are Tory than any other party, and should really be able to tell from their policies that this Government is about as left-wing as George Dubya Bush.
