I want him to stay but if he does go I think it's a fairly clear step up. What would be a bigger step up where he consistently starts? I don't think he gets into the Arsenal or City team. Liverpool are in transition so who knows. Tottenham would argue they've got a claim to best of the rest. I'm sorry but you're not going to get me to say anything other than Spurs are sh1t.

We were stuck with Olise's release clause but Guehi and Eze are under contract. Under no circumstances and for no amount of money, baring insane sums, should they be sold. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (18 Jul 2024 1.12pm) My excitement for the new season has faded already. Its replaced with the usual mid table Groundhog day expectation and will most likely finish with Southgate taking over. Ill still get to a couple of games throughout the season tho.

We were always going to lose one of Eze, Olise, or Guehi in this pre season. And if we lose Guehi I can understand that to a slight degree as he has 2 years left on his contract and we're led to believe he won't sign a new one. But I'd argue that the fee would surely have to be for an absolute minimum of £60m. Selling all 3 though in this window will be absolutely terrible and what sort of message does that send out to Glasner, the other players, fans and potential players that we look to sign. Out of the 2 left I'd say its more important to keep Eze than Guehi. Edited by kennybrowns leftfoot (18 Jul 2024 1.27pm) Guehi is worth more on the pitch than in money. Eze should be retained no matter what.

surely that only makes our hand stronger. We can slap any price tag on him, or tell them to F-off, if we're committed to keeping him

I’m not worried either way! If he stays, brilliant. If he goes and we get £68 million, equally brilliant. We’re not a 1 man team any more so no player is indispensable. We need to sell to add the players Glasner wants and so long as he, Dougie, and Steve Parish are on the same page with decisions we will be fine. Selling is part of the business and no doubt Glasner was aware of that fact. Personally. I’d prefer Guehi to go if anyone has to but anyone who doesn’t want to be part of Oliver’s army next season can leave and good luck to them. I agree if they want to go let them go, I have every faith that OG will replace them with suitable players who will fit the system he wants to play.Maybe they don’t want to put the work in for the fitness levels he requires.

So if Eze and Guehi ARE sold for insane sums, does that mean you would relent on your pledge to not attend? (Hoping 'ARE sold' doesn't earn me a red card). Insane would have to be at least 100 million. Unlike some so called fans on here, I couldn't care less about making money on players, unless we no longer want them. I want to win games. Lots of games.

With so many divas and millionaire journeymen infesting the PL it's refreshing to have a group of players who (apparently?) really want to play for the manager. Eze strikes me as one of those, and like Zaha he loves playing and he'll never be happy sitting on the bench. So a good chance OG can persuade him to give us at least another season. If not then between Dougie's prospecting and OG's contacts, we'll have a strong squad with good cover for key injuries. Whether we dare to hope or hope to dare, either way the future is exciting if you are a Palace fan.

Eze to City . . . With the news that De Bruyne is likely to go to Saudi, City have put Eze on their radar(as if he wasn't already there) . . . [Link]
