I see it now.
Hughes does not have the cutting decisiveness, guile and energy to play in a central midfield role, but unfortunately he doesn't have the skillset to slot into any other position. He's simply a weak link.

What an amazing talent that boy has! Spacial awareness second to none and a total instinct for where other players are,..... and then there's his awareness of where the goal is
