Is there anyone left on here supporting Roy to stay on? Well, I’ve been saying Roy out since the second season of his first stint, so maybe I should change tack now just to be different. Seriously though I’ve never liked his tactics since the debacle with England and the flaws of his system have finally become all to visible even to those who couldn’t see clearly because he was a Croydon boy. Nobody wanted him to fail, but it’s difficult to argue against a change now.

Is there anyone left on here supporting Roy to stay on? i have always been a stalwart defender of Roy. Remembering PV, Alan Pardew, that useless dutch bloke, the treachery of so many proven managers like Sam Allardyce & Tony Pulis.....and all the other disappointments. today ? i fear for a freefall upon losing Roy. And i also believe the problems we have, on the pitch, are the fault of the money men and the backroom bosses. Not necessarily Roy. Hypothetical question : imagine the best managers in the World....Carlo Ancelloti, Jurgan Klopp, Zidane, Pep Guardiola.....how would any of them handle the current mess at Selhurst ? i reckon they would struggle and maybe throw the towel in. And if we sack Roy and get a greenhorn, a question-mark manager then we will defo get relegated. Probably playing fun and exciting football while we do so. officially i will abstain from any voting on the future of Roy. I like him. i also like Palace. If we lose to Sheffield, i will change my vote.

Roy has 2 big games coming up. Lose at home to Sheffield United and I reckon he’s gone. Draw and the jury is out until the Brighton game. Win and he’s safe to the end of the season. He has been unlucky with injuries and unfortunately Olise isn’t Wilf. How many times did Wilf go off with an injury but somehow be fit for the next big game. Sadly Olise and Eze don’t have his powers of recovery. Roy hasn’t been helped by recruitment. Parish and Freedman clearly knew Roy wouldn’t play a kid from South America so I can only assume he was bought for the future and with Roy’s blessing on the assumption he had enough in the squad to finish mid table at least. That said spending money on a keeper we don’t need is bizarre. The only chink of light at the end of the tunnel (unless Olise is fit this week) is that Ayew will be on the plane home soon after Ghana’s early exit. Hopefully he will play against Sheffield United.

Honestly, relegation doesn't bother me... the board taking their money and running does... Parish needs to go...we should not be in this position and he's the captain at the helm.

I was saying ages ago before Viera that Dyche was a good choice, still that ship has long gone now! The only thing that goes against Dyche is he fiddles with his nose during the game, has anyone else noticed him. Give it a rest man! All that snow up there.

When we get a situation when Roy makes public statements about bringing Kalvin Philips on board: "'I would like to think that if Kalvin Phillips is available and a possibility for the club - once again, there will be financial restrictions, who knows whether the club feels they will be able to afford that" and then we see this in the press: If I were Parish, I would be apoplectic about my manager saying things like this in front of the media.

This is the problem beating sheff United shouldn’t mean anything. There terrible. Even if they do have a bit more about them at the moment. If he makes it to the Sheff United which I think he will unfortunately because we are a shambles and pathetic we should have to get 6 points from next 3 games for us even to consider keeping him till end of the season. The fact that he hasn’t gone regardless is an absolute disgrace.

Bang on. That is unacceptable. It's like I already said, the club is disjointed. Parish needs to get on top of things. Edited by dreamwaverider (23 Jan 2024 8.12am)

Or does it reflect that fact that Roy is being fed the same false hope the fans are? It's a bit like me telling my wife I hope to become a millionaire underwear model by the end of this year then just sitting around in my pants moaning about Palace. There's little point talking of such aspirations when there's no action to deliver upon them.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
