Actually, if you look at our squad, we only have circa 6 players who can truly say are first eleven quality, the rest just make up the numbers and probably would struggle in a championship side. Parish has just lost it, the manager can only shuffle around the pack of cards he has and frankly some of those are just not good enough for regular first team football in the EPL. Changing the manager will not solve the problem!

I make you right, I’ll raise you 7 though, Johnstone, Joa, Guehi, Lerma, Doucoure, Eze and Olise

It seems I was watching a different game. I thought we were unlucky. We lost 2 key players at almost the same time, yet still maintained our ascendancy. We had a good goal ruled out for an unlucky handball, scored a wonderful equaliser but made a defensive error to concede again.

The pressure at the end so nearly yielded results. The only reason it didn’t was luck.

Luton didn’t beat us. They are a poor side. Luck beat us. Play that another 10 times and we would win most of them.

That’s football.

Olise was outstanding.

No words really.. Its all very familiar from when Roy was last in charge. Imagine playing in that team and looking to the bench for some inspiration and a weathered, down trodden looking 76 year old elderly male is staring back at you... Thing is I don't blame Roy.. I blame our board.

We are a poor side that happens to have 3 or 4 very talented individuals in it. What's even more concerning is that this will definitely be Eze and Guehi last season with us and you can guarantee we won't replace them.

I said it the other week we will finish between 17th and 13th but our board and some on here will be more than happy with that.

Totally agree. That's about the amount that could play for higher placed clubs and do something with their careers. The others are treading water or going through the motions to collect what is in effect, easy money. Reason? No competition for places, firstly because the squad is paper thin, and secondly because the current manager has his favourites anyway, no matter how abysmally they play week in week out.
I recall Roy's debacle against Iceland - had the cream of England's crop to choose from, ends up with Hart, Cahill, and Smalling, with Dier in the centre of midfield. They too came unstuck against a team of limited ability but with plenty of va va voom.
Roy has the uncanny ability to take the joy out of the game, after a little while it starts to show, and we are at that point now.

We literally have nothing to lose . At least the need to impress will be there . Shocking really same old . Like someone else said Roy is cheap and a safe bet for a s*** finish but another year in the prem. have some ambition parish ffs and yes my grammar is poor I am beer eyed

So what does need to change because what is happening is not working.

People saying we haven't got that many good players, well, how many do Luton have? They are assembled off a shoestring and freebies. We didn't just lose to Liverpool. The forwards seemingly had no plan. There were no obvious tactics at play. No overloads. No-one got tight on Barkley when he was clearly running the show for them. The subs were like for like with no change to the shape. We created chances because Luton aren't very good. I'm sorry but sometimes the manager is to blame.

So it's Roy's fault that we lost that, is it ???
Blame him for their keeper's saves from our players?
Blame him for the mix-up between two international players for their winner?
Blame him for injuries?
Blame him for J-PM being unable to do anything football?
To be polite, I'll just say that I disagree strongly.

I was annoyed at Roy’s return but for apparentl different reasons to most. He must’ve wanted to come (can make his own decisions) but you could foresee the lack of spending and struggle therefore I thought it was unfair on him especially after all he’s done for us.

That said, we’ve shipped 5 in the last two games against sides in the relegation zone who’ve a singular method of playing football as a result of it being the only option available to them.

Screaming ‘Roy Out’ completely misses the point, or a lot of it, as to why things are sh!t but is not a sentiment without any substance whatsoever - he’s the head coach. Things such as missed chances, injuries, mix-ups etc are something managers have to deal with. We’ve looked tactically bereft, without identity, low on morale and therefore lacking in intensity, effort and purpose the last two games against poor opposition, leading to two very disappointing and worrying losses.

The manager does not get a free pass unless we assume all footballing matters are determined completely separately to them. Part of the job is to remove, reduce or mitigate for such things.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

1) The side has a soft underbelly and lacks steel
2) Conceding 5 goals v Everton and Luton is unacceptable and any side playing direct and physical football against us will fancy their chances (n.b West Ham next ).
Fortunately Burnley don’t play that way so we got some joy there.
3) As we score so few goals and are so blunt in attack we will find it impossible to get results if we don’t tighten up defensively.
This is an assessment of our current form, rather than an attempt to apportion blame. Others can consider this aspect if so inclined.
There are plenty of games to play before the January transfer window which we will have to prepare for , and there’s no guarantee we’ll strengthen then in any event.
We just have to find a way with existing resources.

Give Roy a gutsy little English striker like Andrew Johnson who can make darting runs, gets stuck in and find the back of net and we will finish 8th. Surely there’s someone like that in the lower leagues? I’m 57 and retired. Pay my expenses Mr Parish and I’ll scour the leagues and find you someone.

I feel sorry for Roy as it must be soul destroying to look at our current strikers who are average at best. They aren’t even good let alone excellent. Parish and Freedman must take responsibility for not signing anyone decent up front. How long have we been saying this?? Our pleas for Right Back are also becoming embarrassingly repetitive but they seem intent on muddling through with Ward who is just too old and too slow.

To be honest we deserve to be a place or two below are current table position.

I’ll keep the faith but if there are no signings in January we will get relegated… And please no more keepers or midfield players.

I doubt very much if there wll be any signings in the Jan window unless we sell a big player for us , which we cant afford to do . I think we will be very luck to come out of this up and coming window with the player we have because if we sell i wouldnt trust the board to re invest in the team they would rather invest in the new stand .

Eze's injury record thus far suggests he is prone to them, which means that his transfer value may not be as high as some folks on here think. Yet without his creative ability we don't have any alternative to open up opposition defences. Olise is one such player, surrounded by donkeys...

Didn't see the match. From what's posted it sounds like we were complete sh1te. Yet the stats reveal that we had 61% possession. We had 16 shots of which 8 were on target, whereas Luton had 8 shots of which 3 were on target.

The stats seem to show that maybe we were a tad unlucky?

What can't be questioned is the huge problem we have again with injuries.

In some of the upcoming games, which we'll lose, why the hell not give some of our "not ready" players a chance to step up to the plate?

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
