Apparently Roy did not want to buy Franca, so chooses not to play him. Only interested in defending, 0-0 is a good result and every now and then we will nick a goal for the win. Problem with Roy's tactics is there is no Plan B when we go a goal behind.

Time for the old fella to go I am afraid. Don't want more of this for the rest of the season.

I’m not dismissing this at all Gribbo but that was the astonishing thing about today. We conceded two from crosses into the box at the beginning of each half and one from faffing with the ball at the back, deep, and 5mins from the 90 mark.

I couldn’t see the game plan today beyond some sort or generic, halfhearted Palace performance. You’d like to see something representing a game plan for the opposition and to concede two headers immediately at the start of both halves against a Sean Dyche side is just ridiculous. We also seemed to lack any urgency against a team any armchair fan could tell you will pack the boxes, get it out wide to swing it in and try and hassle you as opposed to play any brilliant football.

Everton have been a mess for a while but they still have some decent players. I wouldn’t mind so much but we lost to a Sean Dyche side, who scored 3 Sean Dyche goals against us at home and were allowed to do so as though this was completely unexpected.

It was poor, really poor. I put this one squarely on Roy and it isn’t the typical moan about him nor characteristic of me to do so.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

My theories:

1) If we had played Richards and/or Clyne instead of Ward for the entire season, we would have conceded fewer goals.

2) If Rak-Sakyi had played instead of Edouard for the entire season, we would have scored more goals.

Neither Richards/Clyne nor JRS are brilliant solutions, but the former would have been beaten less often, and the latter would have made more of the opportunities that Edouard (and Mateta) have been given.

Gutted about today. They had three shots and scored. Which is worrying. Eze was incredible on the ball. Lermar was class and I thought that the whole team were in fairness. Olise looked great when he came on.
Onwards and upwards.

I dislike Pickford, but where would Everton be without him....don't think they would have won today without him.
Edouard may have scored, but he is a hard watch.
Thought we look pretty good today apart from 3 defensive mistakes.

Thought we were really good today. Ridiculous first minute and first 5 minutes of the second half.
Have t seen their goals yet on tele , but thought everyone, apart from Eduard first half , done well.
Eze was great and Hughes really good.
Everton did to us , what we’ve been doing to teams for 10 years. They had a lot less possession and quality, but won the game.
Enjoyed the way we played today, play like that all season and we will see some good games.
Olise back, massive plus.

In a sense it's pretty futile to complain about Edouard.
He is not going to bully defenders, get in front off them or close them down at speed.
He is not going to win headers, outrun defenders or generally make a nuisance of himself.
It seems he's been asked to perform a role as lone target man that he's ill equipped to perform.
Therefore, the choice seems to be you either leave him out and play Ayew down the middle (in the knowledge that he'd at least perform some of the tasks) or you change the tactics to suit Edouard (if that's possible).
Edouard will score the occasional goal, but this doesn't compensate for the lack of contribution he makes in other areas.
This may sound harsh, but surely after all this time Edouard is not going to change the way he plays the game .

WOW one sub at 69th minute when we was behind

How do you know Franca isn't ready and how is a player suppose to be ready sitting on bench.

You do come out with so much tosh Painter constantly defending the club.

Well, Edouard was a liability first half, all the good work we did fell apart around him. We desperately need to get rid of both him and Mateta, bring in a decent striker and hope that Franca can turn into a goal scorer at PL level.

Again more nonsense.

How many clear chances did Palace create (birds chirping while waiting)

The whole game we had only 4 shots on target.

Hardly he made 3 saves throughout the full game.

Palace lack proper movement too many players want to stand around ball to feet and why we don't like putting balls into the box is odd one all the other teams do this yet we want to come into center all the time.

I look back at when we had inferior players and played better attacking football with quick counter attacking football which was direct or via crosses

Cannot wait for season to be over already. Hodgson sucks the life out of me. Appointment made no sense except to stay up and the football is incredibly boring. We never beat Everton, except under Vieira. It is 15th or 16th this season at best. What a complete waste of a season.

I know how grateful we have to be being in the top flight. I know we're a small skint club. Yet I still find being beaten by teams like Everton, so often, depresses me.

Is this really the best we can ever hope for?

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
