Didn’t learn anything new from this game.
We will struggle to score more than one goal per game with the current lineup and have no imagination or creativity in our play in the final third other than through Eze.
Hopefully the return of the injured players and perhaps one or two additions will improve us in this regard.
We had to rely on Anderson to slide tackle in an equaliser today.
It wasn’t a bad performance but it’s evident to all where we lack.

Take 4 points from these first 3 games. At 33 years Wardy must be one of the oldest wing backs in the PL. A year ago in a game I seem to remember he had a shocker where his lack of pace due to his age was cruelly exposed. With very fast young wingers in every PL team that position isn't for old legs. He wasn't up to it a year ago and the squad needs a ready replacement for him. Respect to him for his heroics in getting Palace to and keeping us in the PL, particularly in the play off final but his time has come. Another player that needs replacement pressure is Schlupp who seems to be non existent in more games than he makes a contribution to.

I feel ward and schlupp make excellent squad players, but yes it’s glaringly obvious we lack depth. Both are hard workers. Let’s hope by Friday we don’t just replace people we are selling and instead add some quality in addition

Well earned result today for sure, Ayew and Anderson carried the team today and Eze had some great plays, but no-one really helping him and probably he doesn't trust Edouard or Mateta to finish. If Eze gets injured, the current team has no goal threat and this is a high risk situation. Ahamada not impressing as a sub, so why aren't we giving JRS a run out?

We kept Milivojevic & Benteke for too long. Their performances were total Gash.

However, Ward has been utterly brilliant in the past. He is unlikely to be mustard for a full 95 minutes. But his ability to read the game and to defend against the very best has already been proven.

Damien Delaney, Steven Gerrard & John Terry all performed at the highest level at age 35. Ward will be 34 at the end of October......so he still has the potential to serve us well this season. But then again, any player is only as good as his last game.

Francesco Totti played in the champions League , a month past his 40th birthday.

That would be as miraculous as Lazarus.

We're more likely to see Lanzo-rus in the side than Ferguson.

Ward was exposed more than once yesterday but regardless of the fact he is too old to play in that position he was being asked to do so not long after the Arsenal game!
Clyne can do the job but more likely Richards would be a better bet wouldn't he.
Our width yesterday was poor but Roy loves to play narrow away from home.
too many times players were looking wide to pass the ball only to find that there was no one there.
I guess no Wilf or Olise doesn't help matters but without "more bodies" coming in we will struggle more often than not as the season progresses

Good draw as always against these easy bet to win ,
But same as arse game lots of ball but no really telling ball , Forwards cant do runs if the ball is not in the right place ,
I dont buy into this that Eze didnt pass to Eddie because he didnt trust him , Eze is there for the team not himself ,
Goals will come we have 4pts only lost 1-0 to arse like last season we should not have lost that one ,
getting a striker is like finding rocking horse sh*t we buy one after 2 games he hasnt scored 10 goals people will be saying he is not good enough for this lge , we need to trust and support the strikers and maybe we will get more out of them ,
so onwards and upwards COYP

Ward and Schlupp playing is purely down to Hodgson, he has his favourites, and it's just as it was previously. Both players are distinctly average and aren't going to improve with age. Hey-ho.

I thought that was a well earned and well deserved point.

Apart from the awful defending for their goal, we largely contained Brentford thanks to the solid spine of our midfield and defence. And unlike others on here, I thought Mitchell had a good game.

At the moment the creative burden is on Eze. He had a good first half but faded as the game went on and did little of positive note in the second half.

Most teams will be content to let us play in front of them at the moment, we are too predictable and lack creativity.

Special mention to Andersen - best player on the pitch by far.

I also thought Andersen and Ayew were the standout players for us, but once again I was really impressed with Lerma. His ability to get up and down the pitch at speed is going to really help us, as is his aerial ability (unlucky not to get a goal). He is looking like an amazing piece of business.

Greetings from across the pond. First time poster to the board. My wife and I wanted to find a sport and team that both could root for and after some research and discussion we landed on Crystal Palace. We couldn't see ourselves pulling for one of the big clubs and Palace just reminded me of my NHL team, the New York Islanders, scrappy team without a goal scorer. I was happy to learn this club has a die hard fan base and is a suburban team.

I am very much a novice to the sport and to the team itself, so I apologize for any seemingly dumb questions or incorrect assumptions.

Today was our second match we've taken in. Much better second half today than the one versus Arsenal, even with the opposing team playing with a full 11.

I thought Eze had a great game. The offense overall just seems to me like everyone is waiting for someone else to do something. Despite that, the team muscled out a draw today which given the poor play in the first half, I was quite satisfied.

Although its only 2 matches, I can already feel like I'm getting into being a Palace fan and I look forward each week to the matches. It's also a plus my wife and I get to start drinking at 9am US time for the matches.

Cheers everyone, I look forward to reading the message boards and learning more about our newly adopted team.

Welcome to the Palace guys , but please remember its football and not Soccer. We have great respect for Ted Lasso and coach Beard here .
