I stand by the comments however, sack the lot 'em! Phew . . . Tho as an ex-ref & an assessor, i don't think its the Refs/POGMOL's fault, it's VAR. Mind you there are refs etc in the room plus an assortment of 'technicians' who have an input to the decision making as in distracting the VAR/Asst VAR from their sole purpose, which is to help the match official to make/get the right outcome. How i wish for the days where refs were boo'd then given grief in the pub after the game, long before social media, ah well, progress eh?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Arteta really gone rogue there. The goal looked dodgy but I'm not sure it could have been ruled out.

When he said he felt sick, I burst out laughing. I really wanted him to say seeek but you can't have it all.

And Dermot Gallagher explains exactly how the officials were absolutely right. Dermot does not always agree with the officials and is honest in his assessment of the decisions made by the referee and the VAR system.

I can understand why many (including Martin Samuel in the Sunday Times) are saying that VAR should be abolished. It is far from perfect and the officials even less so but I have a feeling were it to be scrapped there would soon be a demand for it to be reinstated when the next ref's howler happens ...
