Fair point, but Edouard was about a yard and a half offside. Ayew about half a yard. A blind man on a galloping horse would’ve seen they were both offside

Ayew was given offside. 2022. Just copied this....Though Law 11 (offside) has not explicitly changed, the new guidelines make clear that an attacking player who is offside will not automatically become onside upon a defender touching the ball, unless it was a save. So if the keeper saves it and it rebounds out you do not automatically become offside right? This can't be right surely? Help please. Premier League website.... Ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season, here are some features you will see for the first time. Change in offside IFAB, football's law-making body, has clarified the offside rule, explaining what constitutes defending players "deliberately playing" the ball. Though Law 11 (offside) has not explicitly changed, the new guidelines make clear that an attacking player who is offside will not automatically become onside upon a defender touching the ball, unless it was a save. Great 3 points and whilst the performance wasn’t the greatest it did deserve more than just the one goal winning margin. Guéhi & Andersen superb (but still with the nagging doubts of aerial vulnerability at corners against). Doucoure & Lerma also superb, Lerma looked leaner and sharper than a week ago against Lyon. His strength in the air was particularly encouraging, mopping up the aerial balls that don’t quite reach our centre backs. Could also be useful at our attacking set pieces? Ayew on the right absolutely awesome, toss up between him and Lerma for MOTM. Crying out for a decent left midfielder as Schlupp was just fairly anonymous and is best for us as an impact shrub for 20 minutes. Eze ok and decent ball carrying skills but got caught in possession a few times, looks as though he needs some support in the final third from Wilf / Hamer / Olise / Hall type players. Edouard took his goal well and also finished an offside effort with style. Johnstone did not have much to do but still oozes class and confidence. If we can keep hold of our stars and upgrade Schlupp & the two fullbacks plus add an 18 goal a season striker we have cracked it!

Sheffield Utd fans think their team are pretty poor due to injuries and selling their best players, but much could rest on whether that inspires them to prove doubters wrong. We should look organised and solid but if they block out Eze you wonder where our creativity comes from. I think we'll win 1-0 though. Edouard with a scuff or in off his backside. I also think Ayew may be the one to watch out for as he was great against Lyon. spot on!
